reading from you brightens my day - From: the mighty zambezi
hello lovely one, I am glad to hear of all your crazy adventures... it sounds scary, and amazing, and freaky, and beautiful, and gross, and unbelievable all at the same time! ... my heart and love is with you - I think of you often, and fondly; look at the pics of the puppies, and that pic of you, Jeff and me at death valley (quite old, but beloved ;). News: I booked my flight on friday for syndey. I will be there for almost two weeks, incl. NYE, then off to singapore for three days, then to London and then back to Munich. costs a fortune, but I cannot wait to start the trip... you know me!! anyways, be up for more. grow, laugh, and remember we all love and miss you terribly much (no doubt!) who's gonna ride your wild horses ... LOVE: toni.

wow-your working at a medical clinic in zambia? that's pretty far out. i'm wondering how you wound up getting a gig like that.... be careful in africa and always keep your wits about you when entering a river or lake for a cool dip. my sister was nearly eaten by a crocodile once while she was in Kenya. Good luck, be safe and have fun!!

Dear Ri, I hit Enter to get to the next line and it sent the message without me writing anything. Anyway, great blog. You have learned a huge amount about getting around and human relations. Someday you will be in a position to offer someone a room and meal or ride. Will be good to pay it forward for the help you have received and pass it along. Would it be wonderful if everyone in the world could just help one another. Hope to one day get to travel around Europe just for fun and apply some of your tips. Sue, Jeremy and Eden just came over and I haven't seen them for a month so I am going to sign off for now. I'll say it again, great blog. Love you, Dad

Quite a feast and cultural experience - From: Wedding Eats
Sounds like you made up for some protein and calories. Your stomach is probably smaller than it usually would have been. How long did the reception last, they are all night in some cultures? What relative of Marc's was married? What did you do for dress appropriate for a wedding? Glad you had a great time. Maybe I will see you watching the Tour in the Perenees.

i've been enjoying all the blogs- i don't know how you have time to write them, but i'm thankful that you do. your travels inspire me to just get out there myself. when you come back, you have to introduce me to all that dutch food you're talking about. i'm curious- i've never had oily balls (lol). i'll make some filipino food for you in exchange :) please be safe, enjoy every second, and please continue to write.

Wow - From: Murals
First off, let me tell you that I have been reading your blogs & you are so fucking brave & also lucky to be out there. It's kind of ironic because I am writing this as I am watching your brother climb in the gym. But I am stoked that you are experiencing all of this....your memories are going to be forever (or not so long if you get alzaimers). That is so fucking unbelievable about the hatred for both sides of ireland that you are experiencing. I have so little knowledge about ireland & the protestant/catholic war. I'm sure it's extremely vivid being over there and experiencing the quiet and not so quiet resentment for each side through artwork and everyday life. On a side note -is "sunday, bloody, sunday" referring to one of those bombings? Anyway, please take care of yourself & continue writing. You should post pics when you can. Much love & all of us miss you. -LEo

God's Speed - From: 24 lbs
Dear Kristin, When you see Bono could you tell him that I liked his sermon and that there's a pastor in Southern California who thinks he has a future as a preacher. And if you could get him to tell the Edge he doesn't have to wear the stocking caps; that bald is indeed beautiful. Enjoy your trip, and enjoy the Guiness! God bless you! Charlie
