Laura nad I are about to fufill one of our long time dreams. We have moved to the Centrtal Pacific coast of Costa Rica. We have had a house build in what is known as Playa Hermosa. This is just 5 miles south of one of the largest coast citys in Costa Rica. Jaco is the hub of the central Pacific Coast. After 33 years as an educator, teacher, principal and superintendent, it is time to enjoy life. As they say in Costa Rica, Pura Vida, which translates litterally to "the good life"

We are located about an hour and a half by the old road from the capital, San Jose. This is where you would fly into if you were coming to visit us. We will be here for most of the winter months that all of you experience in the good old U.S. of A.

Weather is a balmy 85 degrees most of the year, dry season is from around November-December to August-September.

Gosh, where does the time go? Seems like we just arrived. Well this Central American country insists that you leave every 90 days, until you have established residency. We will be working on that but probably not for another year or until you know who starts receiving his Social Security. Laura is one step ahead of me, but we need to show a combined income and we are not wanting to ship our retirement down here just yet. So that means we leave the country every 90 days. This is a little sticky at times, only becasuse Gringos think it means [View Full Entry]

All of our stuff finally arived. That is the good thing. Once it made it into the country it was shipped to San Jose to go through Ccoustoms. Nothing like we think of [View Full Entry]

Greeting one and all, I talked with my sister Lynda in Taiwan yesterday who also has a blog. I was trying to figure out this picture thing and I guess it is tougher than expected, so you need to be patient with me. I am hopeful that I can do it today. I found out that I need to have all of my dialog written before trying to upload pictures. So for the third time, I am going to try and hopefully, you will be able to see some of the happenings of our adventures so far. We had our first [View Full Entry]
