The boys enjoyed the go carts and later we would go to the beach. Destin has beautiful sugarwhite sandy beaches. From here we drove on to spend a couple of nights in New Orleans.In New Orleans we took the boys to the aquarium and then we all went to the French Market where we shopped what else. In the harbor was a private yacht owned by an NFL quarterback we never figured out which one.We rented a streetlegal golf cart to tour the town. As you might expect it then rained heavily. This is a coral island and the cruise line has imported sand for the beaches and made many other improvements. Lisa and Nancy stayed on the beach while the boys and I went snorkeling offshore. They were well receivedOur first portofcall was Nassau The Bahamas. We bypassed the Straw Market which is tough to do when you have two diehard shoppers in Lisa and Nancy and rented mopeds instead. Transportation to and from Miami was up to each individual family so we headed out in the minivan for the 3day road trip. The highlight of the road trip for me was when we stopped for lunch at a Steak N Shake in Alabama.
