I was born and raised in Barbados but have spent the last 10 years working and living in London. Being in London means that you can get to the rest of the world very, very easily. I'm in Bangkok for a second time (this time with work!) typing these words... WONDERFUL.

Good Lord. Marrakech is utterly wonderful. Who wouldn't love wandering lost through mazes of narrow, dark, red clay alleyways (and souks) occassionally coming across blindingly sunny openings where tooth pullers smile at you and snake charmers wrap pythons around your neck sans asking?... read more

Thailand Take 2

Arrival: Regan, David and I landed in Krabi at close to 9 at night. Our goal was to get over to Railay's Ton Sai beach that evening but, given it was Monsoon season (and boats are really hard to come by), I wasn't that optimistic. Niki would, however, change all of that. Niki being some German random who latched on to us in the baggage hall pleading with us to somehow get her over to Ton Sai also where her boyfriend Noah was waiting for her. It really was Niki's desperation (and, more importantly, flashlight) that eventually got us to exactly where we wanted 'on schedule.' It was a pretty ridiculous trip by taxi (over to Ao Nang where there were no boats due to rough seas/lateness and then back towards an old pier near Krabi). ... read more

Alex's camera was stolen on the last day of the holiday so these few pictures (from Gabi's camera) are all we have of the trip. No photos of the surf. No photos of the Landrover I drove off a bridge. ... read more

Back to Croyde for another long weekend of surfing and foolishness. This time we went in a larger group... two Frenchies (Raphzo and Adri), two Peruvians, two Bajans and a Venezuelan. Not bad really. ... read more

What follows is simply a copy and paste job of all the stuff I (or at times Alex) managed to write while in Sri Lanka last Christmas. Sri Lanka Part 1 This is the first chance that I have had to get online since we got here. We are 4 days in to what is so far an amazing trip. Glorious news. We were on an Emirates flight when December 25th kicked in. This meant that the stewardesses took off their already silly hats (they look like they have toilet paper hanging out of them) and replaced them with even more ridiculous rudolf antler hats and wandered around taking pictures of families and saying things like 'Merry Christmas.' The pilot at one point claimed to have seen Santa fly by. This was obviously brilliant. We spent ... read more

Just a week or two before our great trip to Sri Lanka our flat nearly burnt down. A bike was set on fire (in the street) and it then exploded into the dry cleaners on the ground floor which then went up like a bat out of hell burning out the flat above and 'warming' ours on the top floor. Just the windows in the end went. We were back inside sleeping (after the firemen had bashed our door in with an axe at 4 a.m.) in 2 hours! A little close for comfort...... read more

Good Lord... every time I go home it seems to have improved. This time around my brother and I took 10 clowns from London with us and we stayed down at Cattlewash. It was more a holiday than a hardcore travel experience so I'll just dump some photos here.... read more

Easter Surf in Croyde

Croyde on Easter weekend. The water temperature was 5 degrees and the waves were double overhead. There were no sets that day... just wave after wave after wave. At one point we actually failed to paddle out. The shame of it! 5 degrees in the water means 5 mm wetsuits complete with hoodies, gloves and booties. We looked like a bunch of gimps. Later on that year (in the summer) when the waves were smaller I fell in love with longboarding. I look 60 in a wetsuit anyways so it makes sense. Between surfing we would collect mussels from the rocks for cooking in a cheap white wine sauce. Oh Jesus. ... read more
