Well my plans for the race have been scuppered. Basically the organisers where unable to process my application within the 13 days they were given and they have informed me that they have been unable to enter me in the race. Next time i may have to try applying a year in advance just to give them enough time to click a button on a computer. Will be intrested to see how they cope with the olympics. Well Brazil continues to impress me more each day. Should have been here 5 years ago. Spent a few days in Vitoria i would describe it as the Middlesbrough of brazil, industrial, with few tourists and a grey unversity campus. It also had loads of pies and pasties the brazilians are mad for them. Well was trying to download photos but as usual not working so you will have to imagine. 3 weeks left and i have to say travelling in brazil is like been in a ghost town so much for the land of samba the hostels are dead in the one im in now behind me is a 50 year old women watching sopas and about 2 other people here and this has been the pattern throughout. Well Brazil is proving to be totally mad. first thing that makes me laugh is that they can not say my name properly to them ross is prounced like horse. so people call me senhor horse its hilarious. last week i started in joao pessoa, supposedly famous for having the most rainforest of any brazilian town. not sure about that have never been to a town with so many donkeys place was crawling with them. asked a local what the town was famous for and was told having the ugliest woman in brazil! Well i had some crappy news this week which some of you will know about. However this blog is sounding like a sob story so i feel now is the time to inject some brazilian humour into it. Well havent done a blog for a while but have lots to tell. After missing my flight because of my ear problem i hung around in panama city for about 2 more weeks going to the hospital for more tests, medication etc. Luckily i made a really good friend in Panama who helped me out with alot of things to be honest i think i would have gone mad if i had not had his help.
