Welcome Back!
Rachel, Reading this blog made me miss you and Roatan so much! I laughed as well, understanding all too well the 'first' world dilemas you described.. trust me, it never really goes away - you've been forever changed ;) Hope you continue to enjoy adjusting! We must try and catch up soon.

You never seize to amaze me.
Hi Rachel, You're unbelievable! I can't even get in the water if I see a jellyfish. I'm living my adventures through you, Becky, Jeremy and your Mom. You're an excellent writer and I feel like I'm there with you. Good thing, because I won't even put my head underwater. I hope Jessica follows in your footsteps and will not be afraid to try to do all of this. Can't wait to hear about everything when you get home. Do you know what you are going to do next year? Love, Great Aunt Joy

Very nice!
What a great trip! Thanks for sharing the photos. I don't think I would like to have been one of the slaves who the alters were for! Everything looked really interesting. Glad you were able to go exploring!

Student (hugging me): “Miss Rachel! I don’t have head lice anymore!” Me: “That’s good… but let’s do high fives instead of hugs today.” ^^ hahahahahhahahahhaahahhahaahhahahahahahahahahhahahhaha Also, what signature dish did you contribute to Thanksgiving? Is it one of the faves from your food blog?

Great student quotes! Thanksgiving sounds like it was really neat with all the people from different places. Glad the playground is becoming more safe. :-)

Love reading about your adventures! Good to talk with you tonight. The bugs don\'t sound very appealing but they out-number us by gajillions so I guess we have to deal. Kudos on the Culture Day! That is one of my FAVORITE activities to plan/organize/execute. Glad it went well! Good luck with your diving next weekend. We will hope for clear weather!

Expanding your horizons
Rachel, So good to hear you are getting to experience all kinds of different, interesting and challenging things. Sounds like music class is getting to be more fun. Hands-on music experiences are were it\'s at for little kids! I can only imagine what kind of culture shock you\'ll have when you come back to the states! I know after living in NC for 7 years, there were some of my perceptions that definitely changed! Yes, teaching can easily become a 24/7 kind of job because there are always things to research, figure out, and new ideas to cultivate. Have fun!!!

Experiences
It\'s so wonderful that you are having all these new experiences! I think your snuba picture is cute, not awkward! The band is...unusual, but, yes, nice for you to hear some \"real\" instruments. Neat that they came and played at the school. It\'s the least they could do since they borrowed your keyboard. Interesting about the march. How does it feel to be a minority?

Glad things are going well! Sounds like more interesting things keep happening. We will skype with you sometime this weekend. Your dad has a bad cold and been doing crazy work and I had to go to the river for a day. Will try & catch you online soon. Love, Andi PS - very nice photo of the hummingbird!

Nice!
How nice to have some "luxuries"! How did you come to find a house to "sit"? Those mosquitoes are nasty. Does bug repellent work? But maybe you don't want to be wearing it 24/7!

You are an inspiration!!!
Hey Lady!! I miss you so much! I wanted to let you know I've been sitting here for a while reading your blogs, and I'm so inspired by you! I would never be brave enough (or adventurous enough) to do what you are doing, and I'm so proud! I was also thinking, mid-hurricane Irene yesterday when we had now power, that maybe this was just a little of what you experience on a regular basis. Power going out for three hours = a very bored me. We are truly spoiled! Well keep doing what you are doing, and let me know if you need any teacher resources that can be sent to you :) I'd be glad to help. You're awesome!!

WOW
Dear Rachel, I give you a lot of credit to do all of this. You're amazing, but I guess your Mom prepared you to do all these adventurous feats. I' m still afraid of swiming due to you're Grandfather's teaching. Love your blogs, keep them coming, Love, Great Aunt Joy

Love the pics! You are so brave!! Glad you are having fun and enjoying the beauty of Roatan. I don't think I will go on that rope swing when we come and visit...or go rock climbing! But I do look forward to snorkeling!
