Tuesday, Nov 24th So, yesterday I started off writing for my blog, but then it got way to personal, so I decided not to publish it here. So let me give you a short update of what happened last week. The backwaters trip was amazing. I’m so happy I did it. I had the most beautiful weather and the landscape was breathtaking. As was the sunset (see pics). The sky was superclear that night so I just laid there looking at the stars and it was probably the most romantic experience I ever had by myself :-). The next morning I [View Full Entry]

Alappuzha Asia » India
Monday, Nov 16th - Alappuzha Today was the first day in forever, it didn’t rain. The trekking tour on Saturday pretty much didn’t take place, cause it was literally down poring. I checked the weather forecast that night and there was rain predicted for the next couple of days all over India. So I changed my plans and instead of going to the Peryar Wildlife Sanctuary, I went back to Kochi and caught a bus to Alappuzha. That second bus ride was adventurous, well not really, it was just super crowded. I got on the bus, and there was no seat [View Full Entry]

Fort Cochin Asia » India » Kerala » Kochi
Wednesday, Nov 11th - Ford Cochin - Kerala The train ride was pretty OK. I slept most of the time, so the twelve hours went by fast. As I arrived in Ernakulum, I was lucky to catch a local bus to Ford Cochin. Standing at the local bus station, obviously looking pretty lost I got picked up by a guy who took me to his guest house. The room was very decent, clean and the owners very friendly. So I started wandering off to explore the surroundings - and ended up in one of the nicest little towns, I’ve seen in [View Full Entry]

Friday, Nov 13th - Munnar Today was my second day in Munnar, well, sort of. I arrived yesterday night at 6 pm after a beautiful, but tiring 5 hour bus ride. As I mentioned before, I like the buses, but especially the first two hours where pretty awful. Getting on the bus I thought ‘wow, such a nice and spacious bus, with comfy, cushioned seats’ got in a row, sat my backpack next to me and started to read. But India wouldn’t have been India, if that would’ve been it. The bus got more and more crowded. When I saw, that [View Full Entry]

Wednesday, Nov 4th I can’t believe I’ve already been in Bengalore for 2 days! Time goes by so fast in a big city like this! Telling of what I’ve seen so far I really like it here. The city is superbusy, loud and polluted, but still has its very own charm. At some places there is now way you’d think you were in India, if there weren’t so many Indians on the street. It could as well be any other big city in the world. Ok, maybe I’m just very spoiled, cause I’m being shown around by a local ☺ Thank [View Full Entry]

Tuesday, Nov 3rd What a night! Contrary to my hopes, the roads got even worse. I don’t think I ever saw potholes that size! At least I managed to sleep somewhat. This morning it didn’t really get any better. First I couldn’t find my contacts, so I was pretty blind to start with, second I was pretty disorientated and had o idea where I was going. Then I happened to run only into people, that didn’t speak English, including my Rickshaw driver. He must’ve sensed my confusion, took his chance and drove me circles around the city without really going where [View Full Entry]

Five days in Hampi Asia » India » Karnataka » Hampi
Friday, Oct 30th, Hampi - Karnataka This morning was the first time in forever, that we took a yoga class. It was different, but not bad. Weird introduction… Whatever. We arrived in Hampi yesterday morning after a 14 hour bus ride. It was fun, but also totally exhausting. It was a sleeper bus, so picture this like a bus with a ton of bunk beds inside. Ok, if you ever decided you wanna take a bus in India, make sure, you didn’t have recent abdorminal surgery, you are pregnant, suffering from hernia, have any ulcers (sorry, inside joke ) No, seriously, [View Full Entry]

Arambol - Goa Asia » India » Goa » Arambol
Monday, Oct 26th - Arambol, Goa So, today we left Anjuna to go to Arambol. The weekend was fine. We didn’t end up partying at all, but we met really nice people and hung out at the Shore Bar a lot. I finished ‘eat, pray, love’ yesterday and actually got a parcel send out today to hopefully be in Melbourne before I am. Sending a parcel in India usually includes spending 2-3 hours at the post office (not exaggerating here!). But siunce the post office in Anjuna is tiny, it only took me 20 minutes. Like everything in India, sending a [View Full Entry]

Tuesday, Oct 20th Later on in Anjuna, Goa So, now we arrived in Goa. Our plane was about an hour late, but if you learn one thing here, it’s patience… Besides patience, India teaches you thankfulness. I am just so lucky, that I was born where I was born and that I was able to live outstandingly well, go to school, get a university degree and so on. But let me get on with Goa: my first impression: very touristy, reminded me kinda of the Canary Islands. We met two girls at the airport and shared a taxi with them, which [View Full Entry]

Tuesday, Oct 20th Finally I got sit down and write… We’re in the airport and waiting for our plane to Goa. The past couple days in Mumbai were crazy. We left the ashram on Saturday early morning and got on the train to Mumbai. We’d booked just regular seats, nothing fancy, but lots of fun. Its hard to describe, but I’ll try: Picture tons of people trying to get into one carriage….We got in and even found our seats… Definitely nothing for bigger people. There are families, huge groups of people and everyone’s playing music and talks and is just st [View Full Entry]
