Colo-i Suva Rock pools
After catching the local bus for a couple of dollars from Navua to Suva, we booked into Suva Motor Inn which was great because we could have a hot shower and our own toilet - Whoo Hoo! We had dinner and an early night and went to Colo-i-Suva Park the next day. While we were there, we had another tsunami warning. We were blissfully unaware and swimming in the rockpools when a text message from Oz came through again. This time, Shane, my son was also in Fiji on the side where the tsunami was supposed to hit. We started walking [View Full Entry]

The Yasawa Flyer
We arrived after a direct flight of 5 hrs from Adelaide. The weather was warm and inviting. Our first night was booked in the Tanoa International at a really cheap rate from Oz. Up early the next morning and it was off to the Yasawas. First stop Manta Ray, about 3 hours by the Yasawa Flyer (also known as the big yellow boat) It was amazing that a couple of people who worked in the resort remembered us from 2 years earlier. Dinner was great, and we met a lot of nice people who were travelling for about a year already. [View Full Entry]

Church visit at Sigatoka with Maciu who married us 4 Yrs ago
After arriving back on the main land from Waya it was almost dark and we had to catch some sort of transport back to the Coral Coast. After numerous offers of taxi rides for huge amounts ( we are transport savy now) we conned a ride on one of the resort coaches, for a small fee to get us to the coral coast ( 1 1/2 Hrs away). We stayed at the Vakaviti - great economical place we stayed in 2 yrs ago. We met the minister who married us 4 yrs previously on Sunday for the second time which was [View Full Entry]

Pt Vila Markets
The Markets in Pt Vila were alive 24 hrs a day 6 days a week stopping only on Sundays
We Arrived in Vanuatu on 09/06/08. It was a little cooler than we had expected, having travelled to Fiji and Samoa in the last quarter of the year. We stayed in Pt Vila for a week taking in a few tours and then hired a car and travelled around the Island. The people were wonderful, the scenery was great and we had a ball. We could explore at our leisure and we were never hassled by people wanting to sell things which is always a bonus! The car we hired was a little 850cc Kancil ( not sure but it looked [View Full Entry]

Aquarius pool
We loved Fiji in 05 so we decided to come back and explore more. We booked a trip to the Yasawas for 12 days and saw 5 islands. We had two nights on the mainland in the Aquarius Resort which was great, and then spent the next 12 days in the Yasawa Islands. First 2 nights were bounty island, where we went parasailing on on of the neighbouring islands, and still had an airconditioned bure. The next 2 nights were at Waya Lailai, then at Sanawai and other islands including the Wanna Taki boat, a church trip to Nacula Island and [View Full Entry]

Samoan Tattoo
This was our second trip overseas and our first anniversary. We decided to see another Pacific Island, since we got married in Fiji the year before. We booked everything on the internet from home and organised a 14 day trip taking us around Upolu and Savaii. The trip was with Green Turtle Tours and they took us everywhere. We were taken to different Fales for a couple of nights at a time and met some wonderful people. Samoans are very hospitable and can't do enough for you. The views were stunning and the relaxed friendly people made me want to stay [View Full Entry]

View from the Outrigger Balcony
We had our first trip to the Pacific Islands in 2005 and got married in The Outrigger On The Lagoon Resort. The people and scenery was fabulous. We had a helicopter ride to Castaway Resort as part of the package, and after the luxury we decided to backpack around Viti Levu for a week to see as much as we could in the last week. It was the start to many more trips to the beautiful Pacific Islands!! [View Full Entry]
