Just a few days here in the Rhine Valley - stayed in a nice, central hotel in Bacharach with a huge suite but it was all rather odd in it's decor..........! Had 3 nights here in all, spent the days touring around and wine tasting - a long one day boat trip along the river, lots of walking, etc. Weather was just fantastic - too hot on the Sunday when it reached 28C!!! John's business trip to Vienna this year turned into almost a week away - in a lovely city with fantastic weather and we met so many people I can hardly remember them all! Left Brussels on the Thursday evening - flight was a bit delayed so we had a light snack in the airport as no food on the plane! But when we got to the hotel it was so late we just went straight to bed so no dinner...........! Not such a good start but it all got better the next morning. A fantastic week with the girls and John - so wonderful to see Lynz looking so well! Two amazing hotels - BaiyokeSky in Bangkok and Manathai in Chiang Mai. Easter arrived so early this year - we should have known the weather would be terrible and it was! Snow had been threatening all week so as we set off for Charleroi Airport I was a bit worried - however all was well and Ryanair only delayed the flight by 30 mins so not too bad. It is a bit like cattle herding though - a far cry from the luxury of my flight to St Louis! Cannot believe it had been four years since I last saw Lynn and her family - I was so looking forward to this 'solo' trip of mine and it did not disappoint! My first surprise was that John had booked me Business Class on his air miles so had the first two flights - Brussels to Heathrow and then Heathrow to Newark - in absolute comfort with nice food and free drinks all included - definitely THE way to travel! Well, it's taken years but finally I persuaded John to take me to Prague! And it did not disappoint - from fabulous but frosty weather to fantastic food and the sightseeing was just - amazing! We stayed in a very Czek hotel just off the main square - a totally amazing suite comprising a huge living/bed room with real plants, the most enormous double bed I have ever slept in and a genuine old-fashioned wood burning stove in a very fetching shade of green tile (not working fortunately - excellent modern-day central heating prevails everywhere!). Well, our first official trip this year was to Barcelona - but of course I had already been to the Uk once! Stayed in a lovely hotel just off Las Ramblas which is the main shopping street - very nice location in a quite side road.
