Today was a long travel day that took us 6 hours south of Flores to an industrial town called Coban. I have to say this is and probably will be my least favorite city in Guatemala. Just too much garbage, too much dust and alot of poor people. We arrived in Coban at 8pm at night, not a good time to arrive into a city. You feel disoriented from the nauseating (spelt right?) bus rides, the cramped seating and when you arrive to a town there is always someone waiting for an opportunity to screw you over. So this afternoon we are doing an experiment and taking a "shuttle bus" what is that you may ask- well its supposed to be a tourist shuttle that has ac, like a large minivan and its going to take us to Coban, 6 hours south of where we are. Im curious to see what kind of ride we will be getting. The shuttle is picking us up at 2pm so we have about 5 hours before we have to leave. hola amigos! Greetings from deep in the jungle of Guatemala!! On the plane ride there we met an interesting character--- a man who owns the biggest reptile farm in the world in el salvador (hes originally from the US). What are the chances of sitting beside someone like that??? Locals are not allowed onto his farm, CNN was there a few weeks ao ago and he ships to all the petsmarts in the world! So I have started the countdown. Actually I've been counting down since I first purchased my ticket way back in August (i think?). Nevertheless the trip is coming and its on its way fast. Ive almost got my financials in order. Just recieved my travel shots yesterday. Hep A booster, Flu Vaccine and good ol Tetanus. In the end one of these 3 bad boys caused me to puke all night and have a bad case of diahhrea (spelt right?).
