hey all!!! Well we didnt stay long on Ko Phangnan in the end... wasn't really our thing. We arrived on Sunday morning very hungover, and headed to haad yao a spot up the north east coast of the island. Twas nice there, very picturesque but a bit far from humanity for our liking. it had a lovely beach, and plenty of bars, and films showing in the evening, but no little town to wander thru, so we got up early monday, rescued Gav and Hayley at the port and headed to Haad Rin (where the full moon parties are on - [View Full Entry]

Well there you go!!! What we thought might be a 1 day, maybe 2 day stopover in Ko Samui turned into a week!! Stayed in Beers beach bungalows for the record, for 400 baht a night... could have haggled for 350 if we'd known how long we were gonna stay!! We had a lovely week, of beach walks, relaxing in the hammock and hanging out with the neighbours (from whom we learnt the fine art of 'actually' living on a budget- we're only at amateur status at the mo!!) Day 2 in Lamai! We moved from quaint little spot one end of town, to the beachside hammock weilding place the other end today. Twas a hot trek down main st. and half on beach, but worth it! So, now begins a few days of relaxing, sea swims, and general relaxing! Had a bit of fun last night... well we finally left, and made it without incident (for once eh!!) to ko samui. Have taken advantage of the cheaper internet here to update pictures etc. Most of these are from before paul was sick, we took a walk up to the viewpoint - you can see where the water just washed over the town in the tsunami in the photo... there used to be a lot more palm trees there but they've were cleared during and after the tsunami. Hey all, (skip to below for iccle update from 27th august) we are far too relaxed to write this blog here.... so the photo's will have to give the jist til another day... tis more of the same tho, sun, swimming pool, relaxing walks, lovely sunsets, cheap beer, and lovely grub... and a nice lil boat trip yesterday, as u'll see from photos. And we made friends with the neighbours!!! So last time we updated yee we were off to Koh Phi Phi, decided to take one of the government 12 hour bus (advice from internet, less likely to get robbed on these services)journeys to Krabi, the jump off point for a boat to koh phi phi We even did it in style a double decker bus with only 24 seats, so all of them fully reclined, waiter service with free drinks n food and even a lounge downstairs on the bus, really nice. So we made it in one piece!!! Arived tired, and hungover in bangkok on thursday 9th Aug... but our bags didnt. Have to say we were genuinely delighted!! not having to carry them, and realising we could actually do without them altogether if needs be. We are always good with carry on stuff, so have toothbrushes, extra undies etc, and shorts to change into! So got bus into bangkok, khao san (tourist spot), and down to new siam 1 with our arms swinging, and got ourselves nice cheap room, with share bathroom, and a fan... being budget savvy, and sticking to [View Full Entry]

Some Pics of Leaving drinks in Dublin Sin e - had to get a real irish injection before we went, and down in New Ross at Pauls mums BBQ. Paul and the Neurotics in Neurosis played a gig on the Friday too, but alas the camera didnt make it! For those of ye who we didnt get to catch up with before we went, sorry!
