Fri., August 7, 2009 - Departure from LAX to Miami - Overnight Layover The day for Passporters Expedition 2009 in the Dominican Republic, had finally arrived. Passporters In flight, Jave, Explorer and I were very excited about the adventures that awaited us. We were even thrilled about our overnight layover in Miami. Contrary to what I envisioned, this was somewhat of a stressful morning for me since I was still shopping and packing thirty minutes prior to the time I was supposed to meet my ride to the airport! We planned to arrive two hours ahead of time as suggested, but [View Full Entry]

Sat., August 8, 2009 - Departure from Miami to Santo Domingo Everyone who travels with me knows that I like to sit in an aisle seat on an airplane. Contrarily, this time I was happy to get a window seat because I anticipated seeing islands surrounded by breath taking water. I sat next to a Dominican boy approximately eleven years old named Sodocrenise (he advised that it was ok to call him Sam), who was fearful of flying. He kept talking to me, which I believe was a way for him to calm his nerves. I took various inflight videos on [View Full Entry]

Mon., August 10, 2009 - Pitstop in Sosua before going to Cabarete Our four hour bus ride from Santo Domingo was very comfortable and relaxing. The tour bus temperature was set perfectly, the seats reclined and everyone on board was easy going. My sister sat next to her husband and a young man was kind enough to exchange seats with me so that I could sit next to my cousin. The scenery during the entire ride was of green country side (except for a quick pass through Santiago), which was a nice change from being in the city. Upon our arrival [View Full Entry]

Wed., April 15, 2009 - Arrived in Montego Bay We landed at Sangster international airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica, at around 1:30 p.m. local time. It was nice to be back to a beautiful island environment, as this was my second trip to Jamaica. This trip was especially exciting for me, since it was my children’s first time out of the United States . We had a slight delay going through customs, because I had a box of decorations for my sister’s wedding, which the customs agents wanted to open and search. Afterwards, we proceeded outside and met up with my [View Full Entry]
