Saw at first-hand the changing face of Europe. The area around the hostel felt more like North Africa than Norway with Norwegians very definitely in the minority. The vast majority were Somalians and other refugees from North Africa. In the morning had breakfast outside the National Theatre and then caught the ferry to the open-air museum in Bygdoy. Then it was a few hours free time before catching taxis to the airport for our flight back to London.... read more
An early checkout from the hostel and then a short walk to Bergen Station. Much of the rest of the day was spent on the train with the students taking hundreds of photos of the beautiful views. Changed to a bus at Honefoss and then in Oslo walked to Anker Hostel. Thrashed the students at table football in the evening.... read more

Very cloudy start to the day but, nonetheless, I decided we should take the tram to the top of Flojen and hope the cloud cover would break. At the top we could see absolutely nothing so we went for a hike to one of the nearby lakes. There the students were able to do some kayaking which was a great experience for them. We then walked back to the viewpoint and were very lucky to get very clear views of Bergen and beyond. After a break for some refreshments we then hiked back down to the city centre looking out for and finding blueberries on the way. The rest of the afternoon was spent sightseeing and buying food in the fishmarket. In the evening the students cooked delicious food in the hostel.... read more
Walked to the bus station for the 5 hour bus and ferry trip to Bergen. Caught two ferries across the fjords and crossed many bridges and went through several very long tunnels. Arrived in Bergen at 5.30 and checked into a lovely hostel in the town centre. ... read more
Walked into town after a hearty breakfast at the hostel. Ferry cruise up Lysefjorden to Preikestolen. Drank water straight from a waterfall. Soooooo clean. Fed goats and saw small, traditional farmhouses. In the afternoon walked around Gamle Stavanger.... read more
Amazing breakfast at the youth hostel. Walked into town and spent a lovely day sightseeing. Great weather.... read more
Lovely sunny day. Breakfast in the park. Saw the changeing of the guard at Buckingham Palace and then went to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery. Lunch and sightseeing around Covent Garden followed by theatre trip in the evening to see The Lion King.... read more
Checked out of the hotel in the morning, bought breakfast from Tescos and ate it on the lawns of Westminster Abbey. Spent the morning sightseeing and visiting the Tate Modern Art Gallery. We saw Westminster Abbey, The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, the London Eye, Southbank, St Paul's Cathedral and much more.
