We went for a 3 hour hike through a ghost village it belonged to the Greeks that were depoted in the 1920s and all that is left is their stone ho http://www.travelblog.org/Middle-East/Turkey/blog-395634.html Turkey So far Turkey is great I'm really enjoying the group that I'm with and we are doing lots of interesting things. The first day here I went by myself to the grand bazaar where I just wanted to buy a few items but ended up with many offers from men to take me out on the town that evening including guitar playing dinner drinks dancing..... Men also love to talk to travellers about their cous http://www.travelblog.org/Middle-East/Turkey/blog-394106.html Victoria Falls and Cape Town So continuing on to victoria falls....Victoria Falls has two sides one in Zambia and one in Zimbabwe. Lots of people and tour companies are avoiding the Zimbabwe side right now but we went there because our guide said that they could drive us quickly out if need be. The town was obviously once quite prosperous but is now sort of a ghost town We were told that things are improving now and the http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/blog-393017.html Chobe NP Okavango Delta So going in no particular order this post is about two places in Botswana we visited. In Chobe we did a sleepout inside the park which was another of the best parts of the trip. We started by doing an afternoonsunset game drive through the park to the campsite and saw a female lion that had tried to kill a buffalo but did not succeed. She walked down the road in front of us and then lay down http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/blog-392515.html Kruger Hello I'm actually writing this from London since this is the first time I've had free wifi in almost a month This set of photos is from Kruger National Park and Blythe River Canyon in South Africa. In Kruger we got an awesome surprise upgrade to these tentlike cabins that apparently cost 250USD a night Much better than tents. The Kruger night drive was one of the highlights of the tr http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/South-Africa/blog-392446.html PreDeparture Update Just a quick FYI in case you're here looking for trip updates...I leave Saturday May 21 make a quick one night stop in London and then fly to Johannesburg. Along the way we passed through Danag a super modern looking city thanks to it being completely destroyed during the war and had some very scenic views through a mountain pass. I can't believe how many mountains there are in Vietnam We also saw marble mountain which is one of 5 mountains made of marble. That http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Vietnam/North-Central-Coast/Hue/blog-373294.html Hoi An I'm currently staring at the pile of stuff I bought on my bed and trying to figure out how I'll transport it around Vietnam and also get it on the plane back home. Hm...this may take all evening.Sunday Had another lovely supper thanks to lonely planet This time pasta at a restaurant with an Italian chef. May try Vietnamese again next time now that I'm properly fed. After supper we found a http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Vietnam/South-Central-Coast/Hoi-An/blog-372965.html Nha Trang Saturday Yet another looong bus drive from Dalat to Nha Trang a beachside resort. So lots of hotels restaurants beaches and touristy stuff We left the mountains which made for some scenic views. Stopped at a temple that looked like a mini angkor wat. More than any country I've been to so far people are really trying to rip us off by shortchanging us. So far I much prefer the Cambodian http://www.travelblog.org/Asia/Vietnam/South-Central-Coast/Nha-Trang/blog-371483.html Dalat Thursday A long long bus day We went about 300 km in EIGHT HOURS. Ahhh. The traffic wasn't bad and no other bus has been this slow Makes me wonder if there's something going on or something wrong with the bus Cause that's like...30 kmhr. The whole trip including stops was supposed to be 8 hours but it was more like 10. Uneventful day with lots of gross food. Not exactly the most amazing thing I've ever seen but I'm not too into sunrises saw too many over them working overnight.
