I skipped St Pat's day and saved up the energy for Eb's birthday! I few drinks in and the night was bound to be a good one. Paid for consuming too much potent liquid the next day, but all worth the pain! After all wouldnt want all the practise from Europe to go to waste! Happy Birthday Eb, thanks for a great night! ... read more
Just a few snaps of the weekend in Geelong. Happy house warming guys!!! Ended up out & about again. Thanks for the alcohol train Jimmy! Got to love Cats!... read more
Goodbye European winter and hello Noosa sunshine! Ok so it rained a bit but only for a while. Gee, how I missed the summer!!! Couldnt actually sunbake for too long each day, apart from it being too hot for me to handle, my skin was as pale as a ghost and had a tendency to burn easily....damn that European winter!!! Anyway Noosa was a great end to what has been a fantastic 3 month trip! So here is to all of those I met along my travels, will hopefully be seeing you all someday soon. Not long until my studies are complete and the world will be my backyard and playground once again!!! Thanks for the memories and the fantastic times, I miss you all and cannot wait until that day we meet again. Keep in ... read more
Back in London and only a week left until I touch down back home. Stayed in Camden again, where we were on New Years. A few more drinking nights were had at the Camden Arms, not as much consumption of alcohol this time but enough to enjoy the nights. Finally caught up with Luke (Stanley, that is) on my last night in town. Was nice to see a familiar Aussie face and have a chat over a few pints. Spent the whole few last days in absolute fear of the long mission home, but with the knowledge that I would be heading to Noosa not even 24hours after I arrived home, it was something to take my mind off the length of the flight or at least was an incentive to get on the plane and ... read more
Christiania is a social experiment with self-government and a democracy based on dialogue replacing majority voting. Christiania was started in an abandoned army baracks in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1971. Christiania is the Nimbin of Denmark!!! The people who live within its walls believe they are living in a world of their own, probably due to the over consumption of too much weed! Sara and Carin indulged in a good danish sausage, then Sara went on a mission to find Wally....'Where's Wally Sara?'. We ended the day with a wander around Nyhavn & with a delicious bagel, a teary farewell to Helena and then another farewell to Sara, as we waved her goodbye on the local bus, hoping she would make it to the train station and find her own way home! Happy to report she is ... read more
The 4 girls were all back together again....not 4 in the bed this time (like london) but double the trouble out and about compared to Thursday night! Helena arrived from across the bridge and once we got back to the appartment the mayhem had started again. A pre-party at Olofs place, the journey their was quite an adventure in itself. Unfortunately the pink limo didn't arrive for us, but we pulled up an extra chair (from our photographer!!!) and took a photo anyhow. The night slowly but surely got drunk away with Carin & Helena enjoying the odd chance to dance along the streets in a kind of 'follow the yellow brick road' style, Helena continuing her dance moves in the club with some extrodinary moves to 'YMCA' & then the night got wrapped up with ... read more
Sara arrived and it wasnt long before we were at our best! Headed to Mr Beards place for a few pre-party drinks. Was a fun night, a lot of 'eye candy' and a classic game of guess who is thinking of what on the table.....??? I think it was made up as we played but was fun conversing in Swedish, Danish and English!!! Was nice to hang out in an appartment along the water in NyHavn....was magnificent!!! Thanks boys!!! Not long after our arrival and a few bottles/casks of wine later, it was time to hit the town. Ended up being a night to remember, the 3 monkeys let loose in a big city and they are sure to cause trouble!!! We had Helena arriving Saturday, so some good times still to be had, with another ... read more
Lets hope I get to say hi to Princess Mary while in town, or maybe even find a Prince Fredrik of my own!!! Well I must say, I understand why Mary decided to give up life 'down under' and move to the land of the Ancient castles, ring forts, jazz festivals, the sleekest modern design, I think it might have had something to do with the fact that majority of the guys are gorgeous......well thats why Carin is here at least!!! I must say that apart from these people being those who invented everyones favourite childhood toy.....'lego', the people are some of the most friendly folk in europe. I met Carin and settled into her appartment, finally after a few days I worked out how to use the shower/taps in the bathroom.....or is that the toilet??? ... read more
Like I always say it is important to go out with a bang!!! Maybe getting dressed up in a second hand store, isn't really the bang one would expect! But Sara and I found the bargains of the century, a 1000kr pair of boots down to 75kr, now I might have missed the sales back home but I sure have made up for it over here. Just one minor (or major) problem, excess baggage on the Ryanair flight, lets hope there is a nice young Swede at the check in who I can flutter my eyelids at, will wait and see. Or new little betti (mini suitcase) will do the job!!! So my stay in Halmstad has come to an end and it is time to do it all again but in Copenhagen this time. Thanks ... read more
What are Saturdays for, during the day a little shopping is on the list of things to do and then at night its time to drink a little (or a little too much) and hit the town. Sara took me for a nice little tour around town, which only takes approximately 15mins, being quite a small town. We then came back to the appartment and prepared some food and then started preparing for a night out in town. Lots of drinks, lots of loud music and plenty of laughs while trying to ride those damn bikes into town again. The highheels plus -10degrees made things a little more difficult than last night, but with a bit of patience and alot of determination i got there with no broken bones, only one near collision and my hair ... read more
