wonderful Thank you for the wonderful account of your life in Taiwan, and the fine photos. I had the good fortune to spend about six months in Taipei long ago, and also to visit Taiwan annually from about 1987 through '94. I intended to move there, and to teach English (of course), but was derailed by illness (since recovered.) I miss the place every day, and reading about your great life there was very pleasant for me. How I miss it all. Continued good fortune to you, and it looks like you are doing superb work with the kids.
The Karakoram Highway is so great! I did the journey from Lahore to Kashgar many years ago and have very fond memories. Thanks for sharing your adventure - a great story!
Hi Nick! Loved your blog on the Karakoram mountains... I'm in China at the moment, teaching English as well. You've done quite a few of the travels that I hope to do myself one day... great blog!

In Islamabad and Lahore I was a little hesitant to wander too much, but not because I saw anything bad or felt unsafe, just the stories....
exactly! I've never been to Shenzhen, but did live in Beijing for over 3 years... I'd say that this blog was very well-written and in many ways accurately describes living as a North American in Beijing as well. Thanks for posting this.
You have a gift! You portrayed the humanity of the Iranians which is hardly found in news coverage these days.
But in another sense history will always prevail. http://anatolia.tk/
I've been travel blogging for over a decade (my first TravelBlog post was in 2008!) Since then, I've lived in Taiwan for over 10 years, wrote a book about it, and I manage two successful websites about traveling in Taiwan. I'm living back home in Canada with my wife and kids now, but we still spend part of every year in Taiwan.... full info
