Vietnam! Words can't describe this amazing city! Every time I visit the Motherland, it changes so much at such a rapid pace - mixing the old with the modern. I almost didn't even make it to Vietnam. When I was in Hong Kong, I was at the Outlet mall and didn't realize the amount of time that it would take me on the MTR (HK's Subway) and the Airport Express. My flight was scheduled to leave at 430pm and I got to the airport at 420pm. Luckily Amanda & I had checked our bags at the Cathay Pacific counter prior to heading to the Giant Buddha. The weather in Macau has been bad for the two days that I've been there. Rainy, cloudy and windy off and on. The weather has stopped me from seeing the old colonial parts of the country - which was one of the things that I wanted to do. But on the positive side, another excuse to go back to Macau! Lol. Due to the weather, Amanda & I were only able to do and seeing indoor things. We started the day with the Macau Tower Skywalk - even in the rain. The guide was not too happy that our walk didn't get cancelled due to the weather so she really rushed us and tried to kill us by telling us to run on the slippery deck and hang off the ledge! lol..... Hello again. I'm back in Hong Kong now, writing this after spending two nights in Macau. My sense of direction has been horrible so far this whole trip, so my journey to Macau was no different! I took a cab from the hotel to the ferry terminal. After I bought my ticket to Macau I realized that the host couple I was staying with lives in Taipa - which is south of Macau and has it's own ferry terminal. I asked if I could have my tickets exchanged/refunded but was yelled at and told, "YOU TAKE SHUTTLE in MACAU! GO NOW!" LOL!! and that was exactly what I did! Well, well well...what can I say about Lan Kwai Fong! Anyone who's been knows that it's CRAZY fun! Anyone who hasn't been has got to go when they are in Hong Kong! I headed to SoHo and Lan Kwai Fong at around 1230am and as the cab was approaching the area, you could feel the drunken fun atmosphere in the air! People, mostly Westerners were out on the streets dancing and drinking and just having a fun time with people they came with and random strangers. Everyone was out to have a good time - as you can see in the photos..... The best part was that there was a "flash mob" dance going on! lol.. Firstly thanks for choosing to subscribe to my blog. Although a month away to me seems not enough, hopefully my travels will bring you amusement and inspiration. I had a taste of what was to come when I checked in at the counter and was told that my confirmed seat was in a section that was "closed". I didn't know they could "close" sections on planes. I told the guy that I specifically chose that seat because of the extra leg room and that he had to provided me with an equivalent seat. "Okay!" he promised.
