Before our much anticipated trip to the kitchen utensil wholesale market, we took a short trip to a local farm market. As wonderful as the farm market was, I'd like to go on a tangent, if I may; the dogs in Chengdu all appear to be remarkably well taken care of, and follow their companions with an impressive obedience. One of my clearest memories of the farm market today, then, should come as a small surprise, but still comes as an interesting anecdote and, I feel, a commentary that should dispel so many of the fears people have about every dog in China ending up on a menu.
