Well, the wind was a soft, ocean breeze. Except for the one storm we had - wow, that was windy. Like being in front of a sand blaster. Very cool. There. Happy? ;-)

Mmmmm, squishy.... - From: Week Three - Laguna Blu
I'm glad you separated the condom story from the sea cucumber one. :-D Wikipedia's explanation of the the sea cucumber's squishiness, or lack thereof is as follows: '...is the peculiar reaction of the creature on being kneaded or disturbed slightly with fingers. It swells and stiffens and a jet of water is released from one end.' Far out....

I prefer to call them touts ... but whatever. Egypt has them but they give up after awhile. Morocco has some very tenacious (and tricky) touts, they'll follow you around for hours and they get angry if you give them the slip. India is by far the worst though imho, mostly b/c of the sheer volume.

Seek help - From: Torres del Paine
Cliffy, I think you have a fixation or phobia of wind. Your blog seems replete with mentions of it, and often you seem quite perturbed by it. I think you should seek some professional expertise on this subject. Otherwise the trip sounds good! May the wind always be at your back, and try to stay out of jail. Bedard

Hey Mike, Excellent ranger report! I got a really good sense of the walk and your adventure in this stage. Thanks especially for the geology. Have a great Christmas on the trail. It will be one to remember, I'm sure. Heather and I will be up at the Bend on Christmas day, so if you happen to call, I'm sure I'll talk to you. If not, have a good one! m.

Drive by barking - From: Puerto Natales Part 2
Thanks for the updates Mike; it's almost like I'm there. We got a whiff of your Patagonian wind here in Ontario yesterday -- at least Grand Bend did. It was just howling through the trees. And speaking of howling, it sounds as though Pto Natales is perfect territory for one of Ceilidh's favourite pasttimes -- drive-by barkings. Have a good hike in tomorrow! Cheers, Mark

Why not just go to Chicago and climb the Sears Tower? - From: El Calafate
Mikey, Love the blog so far. You mentioned the wind a couple of times, so I thought I'd save you some cash and the jet lag with the above suggestion :) I'm sure you'll be out of range for the next few days, but we are wishing you well- a happy and safe journey with a good group. The Leafs are on a winning streak. I'm not allowed to see any news about the Sens. Pat's got all the channels locked out and a net nanny on the sites. Maybe he needs a lesson on tolerance from some Argentinian dictators. :) xo Lee

hey mike, good to hear you are doing well. as long as the urine smell is not your own and the women aren't really men it sounds like a good place to be. cheers, m ps i ride the sens bandwagon when they are winning but it's probably better they struggle now as opposed to doing the same in april/may as they have done in the past.
