I Heart New York - From: The Centre of the Universe
Oh man i told you New York is a trip... I actually miss it! I'm even contemplating doing camp again next year even though it was so stressful, just to be in New York for a couple of days! Hope all goes well on the rest of your travels... See you.

Versailles - From: Down and Out in Versailles and Paris.
Your piece is very well written, reminds me of me when I was 21 and I first moved to Versailles. I lived there for three years and then Paris for three so took that "Gruelling train" on a regular basis. Of course I wasn't hungover so I didn't find it gruelling at all. In fact as train rides go it is one of the most pleasant in the Isle de France. So you found the train announcements annoying, eh? And those doors that insisted on making noise when they opened. Poor you! Those are for the benefit of tourists like your self who nod off and end up in St Quentin en Yvellines. And don't judge those suburbs from your window. THe western suburbs are some of the most pleasant and affulent. Next time get a day pass and walk around them. Of course it would help if you spoke French. The French /Parisians are not aloof, they are some of the most charming people in Europe. I know, I lived with them. Like Morrissey you see to enjoy dwelling in your misery but at least he has made a career out of it

Catch up - From: Conned by a disarmingly frıendly Bulgarian Restauranteur
Hello mate, I think I sent you an email recently apologising for not managing to meet up with you when I was the closest I would be to you for quite a while; and on the other side of the continent too! That restaurant sounds like a con if ever I've heard one. If it doesn't kill you, it makes you stronger, or something. Patiently awaiting your next update. Bye for now.

Bulgarian girls are hot! - From: I wish they all could be Bulgaria, (girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the) I wish they all could be Bulgaria, (girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
Hey. Just got back from Bulgaria this morning. Shame we didn't manage to arrange a meet up. As it was, we barely managed to leave our resort. Went to the nearest town, Sozapol, but it was very much a tourist town, and other than the pretty buildings we didn't gain much from it. The Bulgarian girls are definitely very pretty, we nearly lost Pete to one of them. Shame the same can't be said about Bulgarian Boys!

Hello - From: I wish they all could be Bulgaria, (girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the) I wish they all could be Bulgaria, (girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
Hello James I work at the Environment Agency in Reading and am a former colleague of your Dad's. He forwarded on your travelblog to a few of us and I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading it. My experience at the Agency tells me that young people do not know how to write properly these days. It is nice to be disabused of this notion! Regards Jeremy

Dyslexia - From: Pickpocketing a Pickpocket
Don't kid yourself about dyslexia, how could you account for your voracious appetite for the written word. I would call it reluctant editing and it's not that bad, most people would see them as typos.

The Fame of Toledo - From: Pickpocketing a Pickpocket
Hi James. Whilst in Reading last week we were talking about your escape from the world of nicknames - you don't even get called Jim or anything. Sorry, that was a bit off piste. The real reason i felt compelled to comment was that i had a thought as to why Toledo is full of shops selling weapons: Toledo weaponary is famous, no? It was renowned for producing swords and such. Check out this link: http://www.aceros-de-hispania.com/toledo-swords.htm Take care! Leo. x

Post Script 2 - From: Pickpocketing a Pickpocket
If anyone notices spelling/grammar mistakes anywhere, of whoich there are many, then let me know. Send me a message, I won't be offended. I'm planning to edit these things at some point. I am fairly certain I am an undiagnosed dyslexic as my spelling has hit a new level of awfulness so any clerical advice would be uesfull.

Post Script - From: Pickpocketing a Pickpocket
For all thirty eight of you who read the last one, I know I am very far behind. Sorry. I'll have to go on a writing binge in an internet cafe somewhere and just bring everything up to date. The truth is I really do like writing these things, even if no one reads them, I don't care. But finding the time to actually write them takes a lot of energy and normally something gets in the way. These last few weeks I have been with people, so finding time has been even more difficult. When I get back to being lonesome I will be more productive. I am going to Morrocco tomorrow and I'm not sure what the internet situation is there. You may not here from me in a while.

Ooh, cruel in places, what would Mrs Beeson say. glad to see you have lost none of that cynicism and travel has not mellowed your unforgiving views on music. Some very good pictures, in fact all very good pictures, I particularly like Place Victoire and Saint Emillion rooftops.

What you wrote about Paris and the photographs were great, brought back memories of when we visited Paris quite a few years ago especially the cobbled streets and also the artists. It was all very descriptive. Look forward to seeing more of what you write, hope you keep it up..Jude said are you the Michael Palin of Europe

¡Hola! - From: Little Japan and the importance of wearing a scarf.
Hello my friend. Glad that one of us is living the boho dream. Sounds like you are having a brilliant romantic time - hope you are working hard on that novel!!! Just spent a weekend in Barcelona myself and it was fantastic. Much recommended. You must drop in on your travels. Bit of advice, look up BCN lofts whilst you are there. They are a hostel company and they have a few flats just off La Rambla. Absolutely blinding. Bit of a newsflash: will definitely be in the US in summer. I'm doing the ol' camp America. Anyway, take care. I love the blog - it's very well written. Keep it up.

Just out of interest, how heavy is your bag this time? If I know you, you'll be ripped like our here governor by the time you make it home. Have you wandered round the cemetary in an overcoat listening to the cure trying to find Oscar Wildes grave yet? Give him a kiss from me if you pass that way.
