Hi! My name's Michelle, I am from Australia and I have just started to travel around the world.

The following blogs are straight from my journal and I hope that you enjoy reading them, as much as I have enjoyed being able to write about them.

Around the world I go... this is what I see.

Over the last 3 and a half months, we have been jumping from beach to beach along the Pacific coast of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and the Caribbean beaches of Panama. Half the time spent lazing around in the sun. There was swimming, surfing, snorkelling, diving, the summiting of volcanoes and pyramids to be done, along with whatever else we could be bothered doing. The other half of our days were spent scouting out places with air con or a decent fan to sit in - the heat and humidity made it unbearable to move some days, especially when you are trying to dodge the wet seasons torrential rains and the killer mosquitoes. There was no shortage of sweat and sleepless nights, resulting in copious amounts of coffee being consumed. Not to forget ... read more

For me, I was sitting/sleeping (I am still not quite sure) on a 42 seater overnight bus from Puerto Escondido to Tapachula, Mexico. A twelve and a half hour journey from where we had been for the last couple of days and the border of Mexico - Guatemala. The bus was freezing cold; packed full of Mexicans and smelt a bit dodge from the toilet up the back. The song “Vision” by The Music had been blaring from my iPod. It was about 03.26 am, Saturday 14 March. Right there and then in seat number 28, I finally felt completely free. (Kind of ironic don’t you think, this all happened whilst I was stuck in the most uncomfortable seat and still had another 5 hours before I could move around). It must have been an emotional ... read more

So after travelling through Europe and Morocco for the last 3 months, a sleep over at Lisbon airport in Portugal, a 13 hour flight, and 36 hours of daylight. We have finally made it to Los Angeles, California, USA. Have only been here for a couple of days, but what a spin out! I am actually loving being here. I am often told that America doesnt get the rap it deserves, and being honest, I never really wanted to travel through the States, but now that I am here, it is awesome! 10 Feb First stop was Inglewood. Lol. Gangsta styles. Just got told to not walk the streets at night because thats when the perverts come out. Stayed in a motel that had a pool like the one in the Splash movies. Had some crazy ... read more

Dear Diary, I havent written in you for a very long time, and feel very bad for doing so. It has been such a whirlwind journey for me so far, and have been finding it hard to sit down and actually write. At the moment, I am sitting in a cibercafe (internet cafe) in San Sebastian in Spain. I am surrounded by a whole heap of guys playing quake or some other game, maybe counterstrike. It is very noisy they keep screaming obscenities at each other in Spanish - quite funny. Mick has gone somewhere to get something, and yes. I am here. Also french keyboards are a little less to be desired (all the letters are in different places... aaargh!!) London was absolutely awesome. Loved catching up with Linda and Lauren - it had been ... read more

If I could describe Indo in one word, it would be a short pause, and then "wow". I think in my last travel blog, in my rush to get a blog out to everyone, I made a pretty harsh comment about it being third world (which it is), and that I was jaded, and something about a hand out. I feel very bad about this comment and my inability to express myself sometimes, as what upset me about my time in Indo had nothing to do with the country, the people and its status at all. I think what I was jaded by were the actions of a fellow Aussie that was travelling with us. When I look back at my time in Indo, I have very fond memories. We did a lot of strange things, ... read more

Hey Guys, me again. So I am sitting in the lobby of our accommodation, Daun Daun, in Cimaja. Waiting for Mick to come back in from the surf. Gotta go up to Jakarta today to do a visa run to Singapore tomorrow. Mick's visa is about to run out - so time to get out of the country. I have been in Cimaja for a week now. It's a nice place. One thing I have noticed about the place is that lot of weird stuff seems to get washed to shore. I was sitting on the beach the other morning, and saw a boat get washed into shore (when I get to Singapore - hopefully will have a faster internet connection, so can upload the photos). Then yesterday we went down to Sunset Beach to go ... read more

Woah!!! So I have finally started to settle into my new job - traveller. I am currently in Cimaja, a surfing town outside of Palabuan Ratu (about 4-5 hours south of Jakarta). This is day four, we are cruising through Indo with 3 other people, Michael (Mikey) from Phillip Island, Victoria, Tommo from Wales, and Simon from London - awesome crew hey! Spent a night in Jakarta, then took a Beemo ride to a harbour town called Sumur, where we stayed the night, and then jumped on a fishing boat to Panaitan Island. Jakarta - woah, how full on is that place. The humidity really sets in the minute you get off the plane. Hahahhaa - went through customs, and bang, here I am walking straight through the final take of a dutch TV commercial - ... read more
