Hey everybody. So jeez, it's definitely about time I get this posted. So as many of you know my old man came to visit for a little over a week and half and boy did we have ourselves a good time! I tell you, Dad and I make quite the pair indeed. So, I'll get right to it. Dad arrived in Dublin after 35 hours of being in air and in airports (he really does show the love doesn't he?) and after a few hugs and good ole smiles we headed into Dublin for a pint of genuine silky Guinness, which [View Full Entry]

Portugal Baby!!! Europe » Portugal » Algarve » Lagos
Hello everybody! So, this last weekend I decided I needed some time away from the cold and windy weather of Ireland and decided to head down to sunny Portugal!! And it was seriously the best four days of my life! I'm not kidding. My friend Erin and I caught an early flight from Dublin and, after much delay due to the french strikes, we eventually arrived safe and sound in Faro. We weren't having the best luck with the time schedule and had to wait another hour for the bus, but we were happy just sitting at a nearby cafe and [View Full Entry]

Well, I can now say I survived Amsterdam and have travelled into Europe! And boy was it an experience. I most certainly felt like I was in a different country over there...wow. So, you may be asking...how did you go to Amsterdam during the week? Well, in Ireland they like to have what we call 'study weeks' and we have about three more left in the semester. It's supposed to be a time to catch up on readings and study for future exams...but I gladly opted to go out travelling. My friend Erin and I headed out on Tuesday and hit [View Full Entry]

Hey there! So yes indeed, Dublin has done it again! My friend Erin and I did a "touristy" weekend (about time right?) and had a great time venturing around the city. Dublin really does have a lot to offer boy. So, on Saturday morning we caught the bus into Dublin and then immediately hopped onto the tour bus. Dublin is really cool because it has a few different tour buses that are "hop on hop off" which is a really great idea, beause whenever you feel like getting off at an attraction...you can! And the buses come by that same stop [View Full Entry]

So hey! I know this isn't big traveling or anything, but I just had to write about my awesome night last night! I went into Dublin with a group of buddies and we hit the city high-class style! We started the night at a famous micro-brewery called The Porterhouse where I was able to sample their three best stouts. One was a chocolate brew and it was absolutely delicious! It seriously tasted like straight chocolate! But moving on from the brewery we went to Murphy's Laughter House where we were 'giggled' by a Scotsman and two Irish...and boy were they characters. Hey everyone! So, this weekend Butler (the organization I came over here with) organized a trip up North to the city of Belfast. We stayed for four nights and had a really good time. I met so many different kids and it gave us a chance to meet other Americans going to other schools in Ireland. The first day there I spent the day venturing around Belfast seeing its sights. I walked around the innercity a bit and then headed up to Queen's University, which is truly a gorgeous campus. I walked around a bit and was lucky to come across [View Full Entry]

Hello everyone! So oh my gosh - I'm in Ireland!!! It still doesn't feel real, although I feel right at home here. This place is truly amazing and although I feel so at home, it still feels like a different country. In fact, I've been keeping a list of all the differences and some of my experiences. But yeah, so the first few days were definitely the highlights so far. I stayed in a hostel in Galway for the first four days, along with a fellow American studying at Maynooth Kate, and we just had the times of our lives. The [View Full Entry]
