We are at George and Blanca´s house in Antigua, Guatamala. Everyone in the neighborhood calls George ¨Santa Clause¨ because he is originally from germany and has white hair and a long white beard and also because he always gives gifts to the children of the segunda avenieda de Chacon. It has been a long time since the last update. Currently in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. We are living in a small house about a half mile from the beach at Jenny´s house which rents for $250 Us per month. Cows and chickens in the yard everyday. Jenny is the daughter of Dona Concha who tends the cows and chickens with the help of her brothers in law. After leaving the Oaxaca coast we drove one day to San Cristobal, Chiapas, Mexico. A long drive to the cool of the mountains. After two days, we drove to Comitan, Chiapas and on the next day to Guatamala staying one night in Huehuetenango. After driving to Panajachel on Lago Atitlan we explored the roads to San Marcos where the road ends. The views of the lake and volcanos are truly special. We left Minneapolis on Friday morning, September 18. One day to Branson, Mo for the Dionne Warwick concert on Saturday night. Sunday drive through Arkansas to Hot Springs. Monday we drove to Austin, TX and Tuesday to South Padre Island. We entered Mexico at the small Los Indios border crossing between Brownsville and Mc Allen on Wednesday and spent that night in Ciuadad Victoria. Thursday was the first whole day in Mexico and we visited El Ciello biosphere reserve for two days and nights. Saturday we drive to Xilitla, St Louis Potosi in the area called the Huasteca.
