Istanbul is an amazing place, The friendliest culture I have encountered so far.. there are literally centuries old mosque's everywhere .. I had an 'experience' at a Turkish bath.. basically naked in only a towel with a huge Turkish guy saying random Turkish words to me while he massaged me.. it was brutal. You can spend hours wondering around the great bazaar.. loud speakers all over the city kick off five times a day for prayer time.. Decided to check out Bologna on my way to Rome as I didn't see it last time I was in Italy.. Quite a nice town.. worth a days mooch, not as manic as some of the bigger Italian towns.. lots of history of course, once I start to feeding historical facts into my brain it responds with "you can do what you like, but I’m out of here" in much the same way Eddy from the Freedom Trail tour's brain did when the girl from Belgium began explaining the maturing process of the pepper!! Well after mooching about London I finally got my visa sorted for Vietnam and jumped strait on my flight to Venice.. At last! warm weather.. I mooched about for a day then hired a car the following day to drive to visit family in Spilimbergo (see Spilimbergo entry). I emailed Stoke (Lizette) who I met on the Freedom Trail in the states and saying "..come to Venice" .. who promptly jumped on a flight and came to Venice!!! It's about time I actually added something to my travel blog other than just pictures.. Gary Blight made the comment that ' i am the worst blogger ever' .. hahaha .... Back in NY after the Freedom Trail tour.. which was awesome thanks to the guys on the tour.. we had such a laugh!! Why is it that Australia and England are so far apart yet we Aussie get on so well with the Brits?? Eddy and I shared the 'Shakespeare' room at the Chelsea star.. so named due to the Shakespeare theme of the room.. made us laugh.. there always some attempt to improve the dodgey hotel/hostels. NY is a crazy place.. but there's so much to do.. I was there for six days and still didn't manage to see all the thing I had planned to.. hundreds of people line the sidewalk.. The Manhattan building sprawl goes for miles..
