We have just read your blog and it sounds fascinating. We are also in the process of booking our train travel from Kerela to Goa and have a question to ask. We want to go in 2AC like yourselves but wondered if the glass in the windows was transparent as we have read that it is opaque.

Ho Chi Minh - From: Socialist Republic of Viet Nam
Just been reading your blog as we were in Vietnam earlier this year and notice you say that Ho Chi Minh was born in Hue. He wasn't. He was born in 1890 in Hoàng Trù Village, his mother's hometown. From 1895, he grew up in his paternal hometown of Kim Liên Village, NghÇ An Province. I believe he moved south to Hue when he was 10 as his father worked for the French.

Just one observation about Mexico City. Although the historical district is one of the main districts in Mexico, it´s not considered the most important for socialising. It´s very quiet at night and has a very strong working class feel as rich families left the historical district many decades ago to build their mansions in more upscale neighbourhoods. Coyoacan, where Frida Kahlo lived, still preserve many colonial colorful building. http://www.mexicocity.com.mx/coyoa2.html A similar neighbourhood is San Angel Inn. The trendy districs are Polanco and La Condesa; the financial district is Santa Fe. The gay district is Zona Rosa, which is also one of the main nightlife areas of Mexico City. This may give you a broad view of the different districts in Mexico City. http://www.city-data.com/forum/mexico/190554-photos-mexico.html

Blinkbonnie Tea Plantation - From: Sri Lanka
I have just seen your article. Blinkbonnie is a Tea Estate just outside Dickoya. My Great-Great Grandfather bought it in 1845 from part of his winnings on the Derby(Blinkbonnie came in at 20-1) My Father PG Davis was born on the estate and I was taken out there in 1945 at the age of three months. I returned to the UK to go to prep-school in 1952 and used to return for Summer and Christmas holidays untill 1955 when my father had to sell up because the Government of the day weren't to keen on European Proprietry Owners. I am hoping to visit next year Regards Robert Davis

Keep On Trekkin' (or is that "Truckin'?) - From: Maldives
Great photos - do I get any residuals for the shot of you2 on the beach? You really were lucky to get the shot of the Full Moon - I don't think I'd even been able to pick it out...of course, when I left it was rather dark, huh! Anyway, enjoy your travels and stay safe & healthy. Hopefully, you'll be able to spend the GAP refund sometime in the future. I purposefully put the required expiry date at the end of 2009 whilst thinking of you. It was great meeting and "cruising" with you both! Who knows when and where we'll meet again??...but I hope we do!

Greetings - From: Serengeti & the Ngorongoro Crater
"KATUNGA"!! That's the welcome greeting from the remote and little tribe north of whereever you are staying. Try it at you next stopover and see what happens. Great to see that you are enjoying everything, bugs and all!! You do not want to know it is is cold and grey in UK, and I am just getting over heavy cold - lost my voice for 2 days!! We have decided to travel the world via your eyes, so please make sure your photos and and blog commentary reflects this. "KANTINGI" - you guessed it, that means "farewell and safe travelling". Another few words to add to your linguistic library. Winston and Susan
