Here are some pics for your enjoyment http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Livingstone/blog-416921.html Freezin' in Zambia So it's been too long. If you want to know how the past week was check out the OLP blog on the site. Let me sum up that week by simply saying that I am in love with the Copperbelt. It is just nice to step away from the city craziness as well as the smells. Just know that I tried African bologna and caterpillars neither of which will be revisited.Monday we came back to Lusaka leaving the Co http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Lusaka/blog-414123.html Quick update Just have about a minute to update.Things have been going really well with the group. We are now stationed in the Copperbelt for the next few days with plenty of work ahead. I'll try and update when I can.Love and miss you all http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Copperbelt-/Ndola/blog-411430.html The Group Made It Time to Work I've now moved back to St. Bonaventure College but with a few more visitors in tow. The group from Colorado that I have been waiting for has finally made it look for them under the name OLP on here They got in two nights ago with about 40 boxes worth of donated items. No joke the only personal items they brought came in their carryon bags. I mean wow dedication.Yesterday they got the http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Lusaka/blog-409912.html And yet another one... Look at this another entry. I think I might have matched already what I wrote last year. Maybe not but it feels close. Again no pictures but there will be some soon. The past day or so Sandy and I went to Garneton to visit with Br. Tony and company. It's changed a little since last year including the people. There are also to harvestable banana plants anymore. Last year I think I discu http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/blog-408148.html Playing Catchup Today's my last day in Ndola for about a week or so which means the last day with pretty decent internet. This afternoon Sandy and I are headed to Garneton for a little visit. The past few days have been kind of a whirlwind. Our second day here possibly the last day I wrote I went with the guys as well as Ishmael sp who's from Austria and Lydia from Zambia to the Ndola market. The plac http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Copperbelt-/Ndola/blog-407469.html Jetlag and driving Since yesterday I have gone with Sandy to meet up with some people that may be helping us out over the next few weeks with the group I'm helping facilitate. It was nice to finally meet the legendary Sr. Josephine who I have heard about since I was there last year. I have to say I now know why she is so loved. She's a great woman who has done many wonderful things to help out the people of Za http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Copperbelt-/Ndola/blog-406589.html I Made It Here's the first entry of my time here. I got to Lusaka at about 830 and didn't make it out of the airport until about 10. I had two of my three bags and had to wait to get through the line of the lost luggage only to find that it was in another room in like a giant cratething. But then from there I was good.I'm staying now at St. Bonaventure College which seems incredibly nice I haven't h http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Lusaka/blog-406105.html I'm going back I wanted to go ahead and put a blog in about me going back to Zambia. I will be leaving June 5 and should be returning July 8. Here's the letter I've been sending for donations which has a little more info.Let me start off by introducing myself. My name is Meghan Weidner and I am a graduate of Bellarmine University. .I have been actively involved in service activities that have allowed me to tr http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Indiana/blog-396504.html Home again. . . I am back home again which means I have quick internet access. This of course means pictures. Enjoy http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Indiana/blog-299274.html It's been waaaaay too long. So it's been almost two weeks. My bad.Don't worry nothing bad happened I just never got back to a computer. I left Ndola last Friday 627 for Garneton after our last program in Kitwe. The program ended well with many people receiving certificates and hopefully a better grasp on how to work with children with speech difficulties as well as other special needs. I was given my first chiteng http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Copperbelt-/blog-296079.html 'Cause I can I'm writing from Ndola despite the lack of a region listed. I've been here since Saturday afternoon and am currently staying at the Franciscan Centre. Evidently this place is a hot spot because I continually see people in and out of here all day long. I think it helps that it hosts Mission Press something I'm hoping to learn more about here in about an hour or so. I would have gone this morn http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Copperbelt-/Ndola/blog-290724.html Quick little update I have about 15 minutes before leaving for the next site which evidently does not have the best internet nor trusty electricity.Over the past few days I have been battling something I have no idea I've just been a little sick and haven't been sleeping well. Today looks like a good day after a good night's sleep thank God for Simply Sleep. But through all of that I have been able to visit a http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Lusaka/blog-289797.html So much to say so little time I'm still alive despite not having posted in a little less than a week. Where we have been staying does not have good internet which yielded no posts. Tonight we moved into our home for the week at Kalundu where Sr. Scholastica is taking excellent care of us. This idea of losing weight in Africa is not going to happen while I am here. Let me see if I can go through the week and relay what ha http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Lusaka/blog-288156.html Success I made it I got in last night just before 900 pm around 3 EST. It was the longest flight known to man. I stayed on one plane for about 20 hours. We stopped to drop off and add some people in Dakar which is on the west coast in Senegal. I've never been claustrophobic in my life but I think I was getting insanely close. It also didn't help that I was stuck next to two one before and one http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/Zambia/Lusaka/blog-286827.html Initial blog before I leave I leave next Wednesday for Zambia and just wanted to write an initial blog to send emails to those who had linked up to this last fall. I leave on Wednesday and will get there Thursday night Thursday afternoon here. I look forward to a great trip and to filling this blog with some great stories and hopefully pictures too.Talk with all of you soon http://www.travelblog.org/North-America/United-States/Indiana/blog-284283.html More tales from Estonia Nothing major has occured over the past few days. The whole flat with the exception of one neighbor has kept it pretty low key. Cassie and I have successfully made two dishes as well as making Anya her first PBJ. She said she liked it but that it was a little sweet for her taste. All is well though she said she would eat it again.Last night we made our own version of stroganoff sp. W http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Estonia/Tartu/blog-202456.html Classes Classes officially started for me this week I put an exclamation point because being bored in Estonia is as bored as you can get. Classes at least give you something to do for a couple hours as well as something to talk about and dread. Dreading classes is more entertaining than doing nothing I promise. The first of the week was History of the EU and Intgegration Theories which I think I sho http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Estonia/Tartu/blog-201692.html I have pictures Today was not a bad day. Nothing too adventuresome sp happened. Cassie and I went to the main square for pictures today and received a pleasent little surprise. The whole square was turned into a market. They had everything you would need there. There was everything from fruits and vegetables to hats and scarves to even large rabbits. Cassie and I hoped that they were for pets and not for http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Estonia/Tartu/blog-200213.html Day 12 I don't know what I'm supposed to call it Today started off well. Now that we have internet that means I now have Skype. So I thought I would try it out with my phone card that Sarah got me I'm glad it finally came in handy. I called Mom and Dad this morning when I knew they would be awake because they're nuts and wake up at 530. Mom answered because for some reason she knew it had to be me. It was great to hear their voice http://www.travelblog.org/Europe/Estonia/Tartu/blog-199947.html
