It's been waaaaay too long.

So it's been almost two weeks. My bad.Don't worry nothing bad happened I just never got back to a computer. I left Ndola last Friday 627 for Garneton after our last program in Kitwe. The program ended well with many people receiving certificates and hopefully a better grasp on how to work with children with speech difficulties as well as other special needs. I was given my first chiteng

'Cause I can

I'm writing from Ndola despite the lack of a region listed. I've been here since Saturday afternoon and am currently staying at the Franciscan Centre. Evidently this place is a hot spot because I continually see people in and out of here all day long. I think it helps that it hosts Mission Press something I'm hoping to learn more about here in about an hour or so. I would have gone this morn

Quick little update

I have about 15 minutes before leaving for the next site which evidently does not have the best internet nor trusty electricity.Over the past few days I have been battling something I have no idea I've just been a little sick and haven't been sleeping well. Today looks like a good day after a good night's sleep thank God for Simply Sleep. But through all of that I have been able to visit a

So much to say so little time

I'm still alive despite not having posted in a little less than a week. Where we have been staying does not have good internet which yielded no posts. Tonight we moved into our home for the week at Kalundu where Sr. Scholastica is taking excellent care of us. This idea of losing weight in Africa is not going to happen while I am here. Let me see if I can go through the week and relay what ha

Success

I made it I got in last night just before 900 pm around 3 EST. It was the longest flight known to man. I stayed on one plane for about 20 hours. We stopped to drop off and add some people in Dakar which is on the west coast in Senegal. I've never been claustrophobic in my life but I think I was getting insanely close. It also didn't help that I was stuck next to two one before and one

I leave next Wednesday for Zambia and just wanted to write an initial blog to send emails to those who had linked up to this last fall. I leave on Wednesday and will get there Thursday night Thursday afternoon here. I look forward to a great trip and to filling this blog with some great stories and hopefully pictures too.Talk with all of you soon

Coming home. . .

Many of you should have received emails by now if you have not I'm sorry I'm doing the best I can to try and inform everyone by me and not through others. I am coming home this week.I know my blogs have seemed like I'm having the time of my life it is less than half of what has been going on over here. The best way I can put it is that I am not right here. I don't think my time to be here

More tales from Estonia

Nothing major has occured over the past few days. The whole flat with the exception of one neighbor has kept it pretty low key. Cassie and I have successfully made two dishes as well as making Anya her first PBJ. She said she liked it but that it was a little sweet for her taste. All is well though she said she would eat it again.Last night we made our own version of stroganoff sp. W

Classes

Classes officially started for me this week I put an exclamation point because being bored in Estonia is as bored as you can get. Classes at least give you something to do for a couple hours as well as something to talk about and dread. Dreading classes is more entertaining than doing nothing I promise. The first of the week was History of the EU and Intgegration Theories which I think I sho

I have pictures

Today was not a bad day. Nothing too adventuresome sp happened. Cassie and I went to the main square for pictures today and received a pleasent little surprise. The whole square was turned into a market. They had everything you would need there. There was everything from fruits and vegetables to hats and scarves to even large rabbits. Cassie and I hoped that they were for pets and not for

Day 12 I don't know what I'm supposed to call it

Today started off well. Now that we have internet that means I now have Skype. So I thought I would try it out with my phone card that Sarah got me I'm glad it finally came in handy. I called Mom and Dad this morning when I knew they would be awake because they're nuts and wake up at 530. Mom answered because for some reason she knew it had to be me. It was great to hear their voice

Another day in Estonia I'm running out of titles

So let's see. . . I still don't have any courses. I went and spoke with the woman in charge of the ISEP students to see if she could help me at all. She's a sweet woman but not very much help at all. She told me that I would have to go to my faculty's dean's office. Ugh. It looks like I'll be heading there tomorrow after I get my picture taken in town which I need for my UT card that I hav

Hello again

So let's see. . . Last night we went to a mixer at the lower level of a nearby club. It was a chance for the internationals to meet some Estonians as well as each other. There were a few people there that I knew and met a few new ones. I was very proud for actually being the one to introduce myself. While there I talked with Bret States who shares the same tutor as me. He had told me t

I've stolen Anna's sp computer for a short bit so I thought I would update this again. Can you believe I've done this twice in two daysI've met some more people in the past few days. Vlad Romania gave Cassie and I dinner the other night. He was cooking when we knocked on his door Cassie already knew one of his flatmates and insisted on us eating with him. We both refused over and over

The internet is good here itrsquos just the fact of getting it up and running. Cassie and I are going to split the internet costs and get it for the room which I think is the best plan.
I'm sorry to have waited so long to write but I literally had no other choice. I finally made it and I just wanted you to know that I am fine I am in the flat and have great flatmates. School is keeping me busy and I don't have an account to use the email just yet. I have to wait until Monday to get that. My wonderful roomate Cassie is allowing me to use her computer so hopefully I will
