shortages
Sounds like there is no shortage of food/drink for tourist. The Tropicana Show sounds interesting. Nothing to compare to the weekend here, Marlie in surgery last night after wolfing down a sewing needle!!! She'll be fine, Amanda and Jeff in the poor house!!! details when you get home. Have a great time Sounds like you have the Drink and be Merry part down to a science. Love you all.

We were celebrating your birthday too Chris. And now the girls get their Valentine's Day presents early. I am jealous...but I also know this was a perfect opportunity that might not come along again in a 100 years. Seize the Day, Night, Day, Night etc etc!! It will look good on all of you. And don't forget: shirts, sunblock and sun hats. Love MOM

I, too am very jealous of all this travel you two are doing! Wish I had the time, and money would be nice too. If you EVER go to Australia PLEASE let me know. That is ONE place I would die to go too. Callin me Home
Reading the tales of Scotland takes me back to my childhood, a grandfather who never lost his Scottich Accent. Being referred to as "wee", and nobody refers to me as "wee" anymore. I hear the pipes playing in my head and being told I couldn't listen to Harry Lauder's music because my Grama thought it was too off couor for a child. "THe mucking of Jordie's byre" translated as shovelling out of the cow shed. Too off color...go figure!!!! YOu make me know that I will go someday! Lokking forward to seeing you soon. Roberta

When I called your Holiday Inn Express last night and heard the Scottish brogue, I could feel my own come alive. I think it must be passed down thru the genes because my mother, Winifred Malloy, came to Canada when she was just a wee bonnie lass. But after years of listening to the elders of the family, it is really neat to hear something that resonates in your heart. It is like you are home again. So, I told you I should have been there to translate. I "get" it. I miss you both and look forward to seeing you later this week. And sharing more stories and pictures.

Back to our roots
Chris' maternal grandmother was from Lochgelly in Scotland...so he made the trip there for me. He says there are very few Malloys there and Conway seems to be a name like Smith here. While a picture is worth a 1000 words, we still enjoy all the Meggy-blogs or Chrissy-blogs...so we all await further words. Love ya!!

Get a bed somewhere!!
OK, I do believe in "free"...but when it means you can't sleep properly, then you can't adventure properly...so if one of you has to rent a bed elsewhere, do so!! Not worth spending these last 2 weeks of your holiday tired and sore...of course, this is the old decrepit mother speaking. Glad to know we are connected again. Love ya!! MOM

HI Guys. My grandfather emigrated from Edinburgh and it is the one place I"ll see in my life. He never lsot his scottish accent and I was always the "wee baron". I'll be interested to get site seeing info from you at New Years. You should be knee deep in scottish short bread, empire cookies and apple charlottes at this time of the year. He was a baker so I'm up scottish Christmas treats and so is my current pant size. Enjoy and we'll be seeing you soon. Roberta

So how come now that you are in an English speaking country, we haven't heard from you...several times everyday I check my email to see if you have posted any more news. I can hardly believe you are at least a whole ocean away when our modern times allow us to converse so easily on the phone. I had a better line with you than I did earlier in the day with a guy just south of Sault MI. I still have time to pack and pick Bobby up on the way to the airport if you need 2 older ladies to help you get around Scotland. I know Bobby might not drive but I would be game, Meg!! Glad to know you are safe and sound...and now can converse with all the natives and read the menus again...even if you did end up in an Indian restaurant 2 days in a row. What about fish and chips or bangers and mash? Not vegan fare but Chris you could give it a try. Love ya!!

It's winter
