This is our last day before we have to head home! We got up early as we had to be at the Aviation Museum at nine. The man was waiting for us. He showed us where he would be doing the interview then Mark, Barb and I just wandered around the museum and had coffee. About an hour or so later Bob and Bob(the man that did the interview was Bob too) came and he took us to the second hangar the Navy has given them. They will do the second phase of the war there. Today we went back to the Hilton Hawaiian Village for breakfast then wandered around the grounds. It is beautiful there. Left and went inside Diamond Head. First time I had ever been in it. Was looking for a lighthouse Mark and Karen saw from the top of Diamond Head. Finally found it but couldnt get in. Came back and Mark, Barb and Karen went to the beach for awhile. Good evening. Will try to do the next page of my travel blog. Mark and Karen left early this morning and hiked to the top of Diamond Head. They made reallly good time. Barb, Bob and I had breakfast togather. When Mark and Karen got home they took off for the beach. Barb and I went shopping for awhile. Didnt have much luck. Bob had to stay in for his diaretic. Hello again from Hawaii. Yesterday got away and by the time we got home from dinner Bob and I were so tired so I will try to do both days now. We went to Punchbowl yesterday morning. It is so beautiful there. It wasnt crowded at all so we went thur the murals. Bob told us all about where he was. Karen recorded it on her camera. Well another day is gone. Mark, Barb and Karen just left to go get Karen something to eat as she didnt get food on the plane. We had another great day. Had a nice breakfast here. This afternoon we took the bus and went back downtown to the Ilolani Palace. It was open and worth the extra trip. It was not only beautiful but so interesting too. Tomarrow we will go to Punchbowl and Pearl Harbor. I think it will be something Bob will really enjoy, sharing his experiences of WW2 with Mark and Karen. Here we are starting our second day in beautiful Hawaii. Have been sitting on the patio having coffee. It is so nice. Yesterday we started off driving downtown to the palace. Finally found a place to park, walked a ways only to find the palace was closed on Mondays! We did go into the courthouse and it is very pretty and interesting. Left there and went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation. Had lunch and looked around then drove around the North Shore. It is so pretty. Stopped at Waimea beach and took pictures. Good morning from beautiful Hawaii. We arrived safely and are having a good time. Our patio looks out on Waikiki beach and Diamond Head. Yesterday we just got settled in and went out for a nice dinner at the Hula Grill located in the Outrigger. Today we will go downtown to see Iolani palace and other things. See you later!
