Being the travel junkies we are we love exploring new places and cultures and China has been a great place to do this. Every free minute we have we have been out wandering the city or making small trips to nearby cities. This has made our lives a bit crazy at times but its a small price to pay for the experiences weve been having. I intro with this because this blog begins a wil

A Ride on the Pink Apaqi

In early December we had several coworkers in town from the Orlando office so we took them to see an acrobatic show in Shanghai called ERA. We had never seen the show before but had read about it online and heard it was similar to Cirque du Soleil which we had been to several times in Orlando and really enjoyed. The show was absolutely unbelievable and I would recommend it to anyone in town.

If you can cook it they will eat it

Food is one thing in China that is very foreign to other places weve visited. Sometimes Im blown away by the things that are cooked and presented as food. When it comes to food in the US I consider myself open to try anything. That is definitely not the case here. There is a saying in China if you can cook it they will eat it. Many of the food conveniences of the US are ei

Happy New Year to everyone The Christmas and New Year holidays are not as commonly celebrated here in China but we have been surprised at the amount of decorations around the city and Christmas music heard in restaurants and shopping malls everywhere. I think it is simply another way of embracing the culture of a Western society without actually acknowledging or being ignorant of the religiou

One beautiful fall Saturday in early November we decided to check out Zhujiajiao which means Zhu family settlement. Its an ancient water village kind of like a Chinese Venice but slightly less remarkable that was built 1700 years ago. According to our travel guide we had to find the pink bus near Peoples Square with the characters on it. We arrived early and went sea
