YEAH MACHU PICCHU!!!! K we got there... AHHAHAH actually it was really great. Machu Picchu is more of a picture thing, but I still don't have a camera cord Highlights Due to the strike it was empty there was less than 1000 people on the entire site. YEAH!!!! I went to huanpicchu and sun gate. Again pictures would help. Other than that it was a great day. One of the coolest things about south America is this idea of going to the pharmacy instead of going to a Doctor... YEAH that is right Jason self diagnosed and treated his stomach disorder. It was funny i choose the pills by their cover. They are Orange. I didnt think the little blue ones are needed YET. And for the brown ones... Well you know why I didnt choose ... read more

South America » Peru » Cusco » Lares Trek September 26th 2010

Alright... Soo.... I officially hate stupid people... or actually ignorant people. We were staying at a hostel called Loki AKA the party hostel of Cusco, and we needed to be up for 2.30am to get to the plaza to leave at 3.00am. yes that is AM not PM. So we let the other couples know we needed to be up for 2.30 and we said we wouldn't turn on the lights to disturb them and we would be really quiet. They were like THANKS you rock. However the courtesy was not reciprocated.... At 1.30 am we get a CLICK lights on screaming something in Swedish, and then this chick frantically changing. I get up and say hey... remember we need to get up early... The chick was like ya sorry... after about 15 minutes of her ... read more

South America » Peru » Puno » Lake Titicaca September 11th 2010

Wow as if getting my debit card eaten by an ATM wasn't enough excitement, I took another terrifying night bus night with Jenessa. Our hostel told us that there was a bus to Puno every hour from Arequipa. We thought okay that is cool we will get on a bus at like 11:00pm and get in at like 5 or 6 am. Perfect time to get a bite to eat and then get a hostel. Well our cab driver drops us off at the Bus station at 10:30pm, we get out of the cab and go into the terminal. These bus terminals are not like the Greyhound ones back home there is like 30 different bus lines and all vary in price and perks. Well we are walking down the line and we dont see any ... read more

South America » Peru » Arequipa » Colca Canyon September 10th 2010

WOW!!! I havent had internet in a while. I must apologize. We decided to not do the Colca Canyon Trek on our own, (well Jenessa didnt want to... something about trusting her life with my boy scout abilities) we book a tour and I am kinda glad we did, not because it was an overly hard trek it was because we learned a TON of Peruvian Culture. It was actually a really rewarding experience. We spent time in a small village and visited the SMALLEST museum ever. It was really neat. We went to natural hot spring and I managed to get horribly sun burnt. Well we are back in Arequipa, and going to view the city and attempt to get money out of our accounts. It was so funny, I didn’t withdraw any money before ... read more

South America » Peru » Arequipa » Arequipa September 7th 2010

Good day... Well so far I have been traveling for over 17 hours by bus from Lima to Arequipa. It was the most terrifying experience of my life... well almost the most terrifying... it would have to be going on the drop of fear this year and screaming like a little school girl all the way up and then all the way down... The bus was traveling on roads that were clearly to narrow for it and it would solve its problem like a fat bully in school. Just honk and pretty much tell all the rest of the cars to get the hell out of his way. Jenessa and I had GREAT seats right at the front of this double Decker coach so we could see all the action and we knew that if we ... read more

Wooohoooo!!!! I made it to Peru. After a 13 hours of flying and 2 hours layover in Toronto and 7 bottles of airline wine, I finally made it. I spent the day walking around Miraflores, looking at the shop and checking out the sites to see. I was basically killing time waiting for Jenessa to show up. OMG what a culture shock here in Peru. PDA (Public Displays of Affection) is everywhere. There is even a statue of a guy taking a girl down by the ocean. I went for a walk down by the ocean and I saw people full on making out EVERYWHERE !!!! It reminded me of my junior high days of "watchin a movie." But that was the thing, these pureans are not in junior high school they are upwards to 60, ... read more

In an attempt to get my Arse ready, I comideered my mother to help me with some of the last minute driving around and work at my office. I love mothers...
