Isn't it astounding? - The game of Scrabble, that is. Look at this completed board. Every single letter has been strategically placed and fitted together to form a piece of the English language, whether it is a noun, verb, adjective, a preposition. Simply, words that defines our every day. Oh yes, there is one Greek word that the Scrabble dictionary Ok'd. Whew, that was a nice play. This board was created last night. It is a snowflake. It is a fingerprint of someone's impact in life. It is a snapshot of minds collaborating. Because of it's individual, unique, and completely unpred [View Full Entry]

It's amazing the comfort that familiarity brings when, at times, you may feel like a fish out of water. Sometimes you may find it is the simplest of sounds, smells, sights, or items lying around the apartment. Tonight this amenity was the guitar; pages of a novel; some defining music; a bowl of mac n' cheese; and... as of this very moment, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - the movie. Perhaps I am not out of water at all. I have just swam to a new pond. other thoughts: Does April O'neal get laid off from her news station in 2008? And [View Full Entry]

Today I held a conversation with two people beside Taiece. The cable guy and I discussed scary movies, Disney movies, the Packers, the Seahawks, baseball and nerdy Star Wars trivia. My home town Brewers and the entire game of Major League Baseball joined the rainy season as a topic of conversation when I signed up at the gym later in the afternoon. Both Seattlites of course long-inquired about my feelings for that Mississippian, Brent Farve. Favre. Ewok or Legend? [View Full Entry]

If you can compare the grid-like City of Milwaukee street layout to a checker board, then the city of Seattle is easily that bounded mess of electrical cords behind your entertainment stand in the living room. I found this out especially yesterday as I ventured to retrieve a U-haul truck and a subsequent couch for the apartment only to find this a much bigger, and much more complicating feat than anticipated. But these left and right tangled turns that led me to the many nooks and crannies of this city havent yet left the same aesthetic impact its paved up-and-down slopes [View Full Entry]

I am almost unpacked. Aside from the small pile of computer business in the bedroom that has at times fired my slight OCD, everything in the apartment looks good. Luckily this obstacle should soon be remedied with the purchase of a new desk. Why is this so exciting to me? Outside of such important things like furniture, my life is ... slowly transitioning to the Emerald City. It's taken several days of jagged sleep, but today I woke up feeling fairly perky. The football parties I attended this weekend were also a big transitional help. Despite the games starting two hours [View Full Entry]

SEATTLE 045
SEATTLE 078

It started with a four-city tour de Wisconsin on Friday. On Monday morning we left Adams-Friendship and headed west. All across Minnesota and slicing down the state of South Dakota. Through the unexpectedness of Wyoming, the bore of early Montana, and the skylines of the Rockies. The desert storm of eastern Washington was the yang to the lush emerald mountains of it's western half. Here is our trip. [View Full Entry]

.....We are exhausted. No, wait, that is an understatement. But here I sit, in Seattle, trying to think of how I want to explain what has just become the most monumental decision of my entire 25 years on this Earth. hmm. Taiece is making spaghetti, how nice is that? ok. Driving nearly 2,000 miles could have be seen as one of the most dreaded activities a person could possibly endure. Who wants to DRIVE across the country, spending 30 hours in a car full of everything you could fit!? But what I, and what we, experienced the past three days has [View Full Entry]

Before leaving Rapid City, SD, we first ventured in the opposite direction of our destination in order to get a peek at the marvelous stone artwork in the Black Hills - Mt. Rushmore. There are a bunch of photos attached. I highly recommend checking this out. Even driving through the snowy Black was amazing by itself. The Black Hills gave me the first snow of the season as we drove thru the tiny town of Keystone and probably witnessed all 311 of its residents outside on the streets shoveling. When we finally left Rapid City around noon, the drive brought to [View Full Entry]

This morning the wind chill in Rapid City is 23 degrees. Wasnt it 70 degrees in Wisconsin just over a week ago?? ughhh. It snowed a bit last night too and the rooftops are dusted with some south dakota white stuff. This morning we are going to Mt. Rushmore to see some big rock faces. [View Full Entry]
