After a direct flight from Johannesburg to Atlanta of 16 hours, then a 4 hour layover, and a 2 hour flight to Omaha, I am finally home! It may take awhile to get used to the time, but it feels good to be home. I have included some final photos of the prison ministry as I was able to get my camera in last week. Thanks again for all of your prayers and support. I really appreciate the love and kindness shown by many of you. I look forward to catching up with everyone. God Bless! ... read more

When I traveled to the coast in Kenya, God gave me the amazing opportunity to visit my Compassion sponsored child! I had been exchanging emails with the people from Compassion for the first two weeks of my time in Nairobi. With little details about where I would be along the coast, it was difficult to arrange transportation from where I was staying to the location of the Compassion project. But somehow with some help from God, I was able to arrange a pickup from my spot on the beach! After driving over a ferry, passed a herd of goats, and through many dirt roads, we finally arrived at the Compassion project after two and a half hours. The boy, Mwenda, and his mother were waiting anxiously to see me. Mwenda is 8 years old and is ... read more

This past weekend AIS hosted the 3rd annual Grimoldby Cup, which is a u17 tournament that invites teams from both South Africa and Africa as a whole. Last year the champions were a team from Nigeria, however they were unable to make it back to South Africa this year. The 2010 Cup consisted of teams from Polokwane, Soshanguve, Durban, Eersterust, Winterfelt, and 2 teams from Mamelodi. All of these are located in South Africa. This years final was a match between both Mamelodi teams as they proved to be a cut above the rest. Sam Pam, who was once a Nigerian international and professional in South Africa, now works with AIS and coaches the team from Polokwane. He was able to share his testimony during the awards ceremony of the tournament and it was a great ... read more

This past month we had our Match for a Day Fundraiser, which is an 18 hour fundraiser that Ambassadors has organized for the past 3 years. It is an all-day, 6-a-side tournament where the winner stays and then a new team comes to challenge every hour. The day started at 6 am and finished at midnight. I played 4 matches and was also in charge of field management, making sure teams were ready and keeping the matches on schedule. One team was able to stay on for 6 matches and the leading goalscorer scored 38 goals! The tournament was very competitive. We also had the third heat of our Freestyle Tournament. Overall the day was a great success. We even had Matthew Booth, the only white player on the South African national team, come to support ... read more
