A suggestion - From: Lost In Translation (AKA The French Connection)
Hi Matt, I like your photos of Noumea where I am leaving. I would like to suggest you to correct the name of the bay from Baie des Citrones to Anse Vata. To save AUD50 you should walk to the Information desk at the airport where its attendant speaks English, and will be very keen to help you organising transfer to the city sometime even free of charge, as there are always some polite local people around who may give you free ride. Those 5min for bus drivers mean a lot as lunch break is longer her in tropical NC than in Australia and people usually have lunch at home. By the way, I paid more for my 35min trip from Melbourne airport than you paid here. Good lack next time. Cheers, R

about photos 1 & 4 - From: Welcome To Hel
Hi, nice to hear that you had a pleasant visit in Finland. I just want to point out that the first picture is not the Helsinki railway station. The building is actually the main building of the national theatre of Finland (they're quite close to each other). This is a picture of the railway station http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0b/Helsinki_Railway_Station_20050604.jpg And on picture 4 there's a "no parking zone" except for diplomats

... three - too few! - From: The Natural Island
I'm glad you had fun while in Dominica!! There are few inconsistencies with the details like names in your blog.. but thats easy to forgive!! Hope you tell everyone about our lovely island.. and i hope you continue to enjoy other places about as 1/2 as you enjoyed it here (.. lol.. forgive my bias!!) :))

Dominica - From: The Natural Island
Dominicans are always happy when visitors have a good time however we don't see the point in going out of our way to seem friendly. Yes according to western standards it is a "poor" country, but you shouldn't have been surprise that there weren't any beggars or mass homelessness because we grow our own foods and take care of each other. You were wrong to assume that US$25 is considered a lot of money in D/ca as your accomodation proved; at an exchange of about 2.6-2.75 to the US dollar that is not a lot of money. I've lived, work and traveled outside of D/ca for over ten years, and I know never make assumptions about a country based on statistics. I recently moved Asia and wouldn't have done so if I had made assumptions. Good luck with your travels.

You big name-dropper you!! HA HA. In sad news. I need glasses....which I get in 10-15 days. Have some sort of progressive eye disease where my cornea's are thinning! fantastic....anyhow it's currently correctable with either glasses or contacts. Not big on sticking my fingers near my eyes...so opted for glasses first. NY sounds fab. Where's all your pics of 9/11?

Me too - only just! Sydney was awesome!!! Had a blast catching up with Katie. We got lost in Newcastle and found this lady on the street so pulled over to ask her directions and out of all the people in the world we could have asked....she had a short term memory problem so told us to go down the road a bit, turn left and then ask someone else. Glad to hear your still alive. Thanks for the invitation but considering how much $$ I just spent...I don't think I'll make it unless I will Lotto!

Something weird and cosmic - From: You're A Travel Writer?
Hey Matt, Well reading your blog was a very weird experience. The short story is that I am heading to Canada in March for the best part of a year, and was looking for inspiration as to how/where to get a job, when I stumbled upon your blog. I like the part about C-grade english at high school and now writing for a travel mag, impressive mate. I am actually trying to bullshit my way into a writing gig too, am planning to be a music festival/gig reviewer. Any tips for how to score a gig?? I have been doing some serious net surfing looking for avneues but have come up empty so far. Any advice tips would be great. Live the dream man!! Pete (pgjreedy@hotmail.com)

For crying out loud!!!!! - From: You're A Travel Writer?
It's not fair!!!!!!!!!!! I am so jealous!!! Me, who is a trained writer can't even get a job at a friggen radio station as a measly copywriter, let alone be DISCOVERED on the internet!!! YOU SUCK!!! I haven't even finished reading the rest of what you've said, I'm too devestated that my fantastic skills are still undiscovered!!! (Sounds of wailing, following by thumping fist on the pavement) Could have had a job in Whakatane as Creative Director but didn't even bother applying when discovered the wages are about as bountiful as the creative directors. Can you point out to Mr Travel Magazine how witty my comments are!!! Talked to KT on the blower yesterday. Have booked airfares, arrive in Syd 22nd of Feb and depart for good ol kiwiland again on March 4th. Maybe I should start a travel blog!!!! My tour of duty to Sydney.I'd say congratulations on the writing gig, but it might kill me!!

You plonker running outta fuel!! I nearly did so many times in NZ! I managed to win the game each time tho, albeit with some really close shaves! Go to Niagara when the sun is shining as its not nearly so beautiful in the rain! Let me know when (if) your heading to England - i'll let you know the places to go, and not to go! Staying put in one place is really strange! I've been here 6 weeks now! Love it tho! Had Australia Day up in Gladstone!
