As soon as we arrived in Uyuni, we couldn’t wait to leave…the place really had nothing going for it. So after 4days of being cramped in a jeep, we still considered another 6 hours by bus a good alternative to staying around this town. I automatically fell in love with the Bolivan people. short, stocky people. dark skinned and sporting round rimmed hats that were functionally useless!!! but looked great!! After a long 11 hour bus journey, i arrived to Salta. stayed in a hostel called ¨terra occulta youth hostel¨...yeah don´t understad the name either! I had heard so much about Salta, but after partyin so hard the previous few weeks, i just couldn´t fathom getting out and trekking or doing anythng remotely physically challenging. Cordoba...a university city. smaller than Buenos Aires, but with an awesome nightlife...yes i should have really given myself a break after those 2 weeks in BA!! I wasn´´t even meant to be in Cordoba. Alex, a friend that i made on the trip convinced me to join him in going there. 16/4/06 - 22/04/06 Capital of Chile, poluted, but pleasant enough city. well planned and landscaped and a great metro system. stayed in Bella Vista, the trendy area of restaurants and clubs. climbed up the cerro santa Christobel and watched the sunset over the city surrounded by the domineering surrounding andes mountains...a sight that clearly defines the image of Chile for me, and yet you never get sick of seeing it!!! 13/4/06 - 15/04/06 Crossed into Chile, passing by the footsteps of volcano Lanin, 3800metres high, and bordering both argentina and chile. Pucon, the adventure capital of Chile. was travelling with 3 others at this point...its like that in south america. most people are independent travellers. we were Aussie, English, American and Israeli!!!
