In response to "hippie comments" answer
Mark, clearly your views have been undermined as our eloquent and observant commentor noted on the lack of interest in your photos......not sure what he/she finds more exciting?.....illegal pictures of children maybe??????? Obviously you displayed yourelf as a hypocrite enjoying a chilled day!!!! (maybe forgetting one day doesn't equate to a continuos wated lifetime!) Always nice to see an argumental viewpoin backed up with such educated responses as "you sound like an idiot" and "you und like a prick". I hope he poor individual that expressed these sentiments never reads back his lame ass response as if he/she has any self reflection/awareness they may feel the need to turn the mirror of those words upon themselves! Glad to hear you are enjoying yourself and don't worry yourself with grade A C- units who have nothing better to do than whine on your blog because no-one wants to sing with them around the campfire anymore!

sounds fantastic
your adventures sound fantastic and a lot of fun. Be careful on the waterfalls though, we don't want any accidents!!!!! By the way, did you charge the Indians for taking photographs of you as is their practice!

Hippies
Fascinated by your observation of the 'Hampi Hippies' , what do the locals feel about them t and how do they get permission to stay in India? Perhaps they are the descendants of some long forgotten 60s hippies who never made it home. You got a very rude comment in relation to your comment on the hippies, as it was anonymous, I rather suspect it was from another hippie. If people are afraid to reveal their identity, they have something to hide. I agree with you anyway, most hippies contribute little to society and whilst more idealistic in the 60's they contributed very little then.

Great pictures, the Ajanta caves look fantastic. Are you rationed to your showers?
13th February 2012

The caves were pretty interesting, I think you would have enjoyed the tour. When we bush camp we don't shower at all, but if we are in a hotel we can shower everyday.

Indian Food!
Not so sure I agree with the extra salt and oil Mark - that's why hypertension is such a problem in parts of Asia . The photographs of the children are lovely, how can they be thought of as 'untouchable' The omlette sandwhich reminded me of the food portions in America - is this Indian Style fast Food.?
13th February 2012

The children are not thought of as physically untouchable, this is just the caste that they are in. Basically they are at the bottom of Indian society and do the really bad jobs other Indians in higher caste's would not do. The omlette takeway was a fairly unique place, not something you see often here. Indian fast food is more samosa's, puris, pakoras and other sweet/savoury deep fried things.

Fantastic beginnoing
descriptive passage on tranquility of the dessert and the night sky, made me want to be there . How well did Peacock do in his/her fight with another camel?
11th February 2012

Not to well, I was pretty scared to be honest, thought I was going to be thrown off.

hippie coments...
its pretty funny you end your hippie rant with 'on our final day in Hampi I chilled most of the day, laying outside in the shade away from the fierce day time heat. It was nice to have some down time' blah blah blah.. you sound like an idiot. and your criticism for 'hippies' not contributing anything seems hugely misplaced judging by your boring as fuck photos. is gathering around playing music really such a negative thing in your eyes? maybe if you bothered to listen to people you would realise that there is political agendas to most peoples lifestyle choices. dont be so ignorant. you sound like a prick.

Thanks for your comments it's interesting to get a different view point. I'm not misguided enough to think I have all the answers and have it right, the blog is just a (slightly, if at all) comical representation of what I see and how I view life/people. I really don't want to get into a slagging match but would be interested to here more about why you think I'm wrong.
