Another month has been struck off the calender having felt like a week. We left off as we landed in Santiago, Chile's capital city which is about half way up this strangely proportioned country. We spent a few days here trying to get to grips with our Que t'alls and our Como estas'. We checked out the royal quarters of city and looked longingly at the mountains surrounding the city which distinctly lacked the snow we needed to ski. We managed to miss this ski season once again by a single week. We also caught a world cup qualifier between Chile and Bolivia. Chile walked it 4-0 and we were leading the army of fans from our bandwagon we had jumped on. Valpariso and Vina del mar are 2 other cool, slightly smaller cities about an ... read more

Well we have now touched down on our fourth and final continent of South America. We landed into a grey and smoggy day in Santiago, Chile which is the start point our next 3 months. In between now and the last entry however we have spent just over 3 weeks exploring NZ. We flew from Melbourne into Christchurch to be greeted by one of the girls we went to Africa with. We went back and stayed in her friends place and hung out with them and they were our tour guides for a few days. From here we picked up another camper van except this time we pampered ourselves a little and got a van with enough room to stand up in. This was our house on wheels for the next 3 weeks and she was ... read more

Sorry bout the fact that it has been a while since the last update. It seems every new update is taking longer and longer. Since my last bestseller, all our time has been spent in the land down under travelling down its east coast and it's definitely been good to us. We have done a fair bit so I will try not to go into too much detail to avoid you needing a strong coffee just to get through. Having travelled all through the night with no sleep, we arrived into Cairns from Bali where we met up with Ro who had spent the previous couple months in Sydney. We happened to arrive in on Bens birthday and so despite the lack of sleep, we did the decent thing and had a nite out in the ... read more

Well we are now nearly finished in south east Asia with only 1 day left here and I think the only regret we have is that we don't have more time to spend here. In an effort to do as much as we could, we have sometimes had to rush places which we could have happily stayed for days or weeks more. When I left off, we had just been joined by John Mac and Kells who I have to say were a great addition for the short time they were with us. Basically for the past month we have been island hopping which I'm sure won't get much sympathy from home. As soon as John and Kells arrived into Bangkok, we got straight onto a train heading south to the island of Koh Phangan. Luckily ... read more

Well although it doesn't feel like it, we have now been away for over 100 days with another 200 to go. We have managed to hop across 3 countries since the last update and covered I don't know how many hundred kilometers. We had just arrived in Hanoi in north Vietnam when I left off. We then went out and did a two day cruise around Halong bay. This place is incredibly beautiful and I think it is (or was trying to be) part of the new 7 wonders of the world. It is basically a bay which has a few thousand limestone island stacks and a few caves. The weather was a little colder than what we were used to but that didn't spoil it. We just cruised around, checked out the caves, borrowed kayaks ... read more

Much of the time since the last entry has been spent on transit. I'm fact we we even managed to call into 3 different continent in the space of just a week. In mid January our party of 4 became 3 as we reluctantly said farewell to our dodgy haired companion rowan in cape town as he persued his love interest before going to oz in search of gameful employment. Kate hope you had a good time around the cape. Meanwhile we flew east and wound up in Perth. We booked our hostel late and so got left with the dreggs as we set up base in the worst hostel we had seen so far (which also happens to have been the most expensive). Mourning the temporary loss of blue eyes Pearson and staying in a ... read more

Picking up from where I left off, we had just arrived back into Cape town where we slowly said our goodbyes to all the crew from our overland tour through Africa as we all went our separate ways. It worked out well that a few of the group were sticking around for a week or so which meant that we were able to spend bit more time with them. Two of the guys from the trip were gay and our return to Cape Town happened to coincide with the gay pride event of the year called MCQP which stands for Mother City Queer Project. They sorted it so that 15 of us got tickets and the event was strictly fancy dress so the 4 of us picked up some pretty camp outfits and went as the ... read more

I know you have all been waiting at the edge of your seats waiting for the latest entry for the past 3 or so weeks but unfortunately Africa hasn't exactly been IT friendly and so haven't been able to update but on the upside, you get a bumper issue this time. Since last time, I left you when we had just met up with this overland tour group in Zimbabwe. Basically it is a group of 24 of us who all camp in tents and drive from Vic Falls to Cape Town on a big modified truck. 3 weeks later we have now finished the trip and are back in Cape Town. It was an awesome trip and met some great people and got to see some special places. After leaving Zimbabwe, we headed to Bostwana ... read more

Let me start by saying the internet here in Zimbabwe literally takes 20 mins to load Google and so I cant upload photos here but as soon as connection gets better I will chuck them up. Well since last week we have done a fair bit. I left you in Cape town which is where we stayed a couple more nights. Wilson and I climbed Lions head which is a stand alone mountain beside table mountain and we nearly died from dehydration but the view made it very worth while. We then did one of these hop on/off tours round the city which was surprisingly pretty interesting as we saw parts of the city we otherwise wouldn't have gone to and they told us bout district 6 which was a pocket of resistance in the city ... read more

Im not much of a creative writer so will try keep my writing to a minimum and just go with photos but unfortunately I have left my camera in my bag most f this week so to kick things off I will have to write a bit to make up. After catchin a few chick flicks on the 11hr flight from Heathrow we were greeted by a sun that ensured that we would all be burnt and peeling within hours. We grabbed a taxi back to the hostel where we dumped our bags and set out to explore our home for the next 11 days with our new roomie Emma from Melbourne who would pretty much make our 4 a 5 over the next week. As it was a Sunday when we arrived, almost everywhere was ... read more
