My Mouth is Watering!!!! I am SO enjoying your trip vicariously!!! It sounds fantastic and I gather that the earthquake and aftershocks have not been in your vicinity.
the cooking school sounded fantastic--what a wonderful treat for all of you. I love how you have found your 'way" through all these ancient cities--not necessarily on the path that you planned but enjoying everything that you see along the way.
Safe travels and look forward to your next email.
Love to all, Robin
Sigh... I look forward to your blogs with excitement and envy. Wish I were there. Have fun and see you soon. Watch those Italian men, they love blondes. xo
Florentine Food Fiascos Hola amigas, glad to hear you are having such a great time in Italy. I'm sorry it's raining so much, but not surprised that your coffee and pastries tallied up to 45 Euros! I remember being there in 98, and ordering two ice cream cones, handing the first one to Jindro (which he started licking) and accepting the second, before the clerk told me it would amount to around $18.00. I expressed my shock and dismay, and grabbed the cone out of Jindro's hand and returned them both to her, saying in my very limited Italian, that it was a rip-off... She looked at me, completely shocked too, then tossed the two cones in the garbage, and we hightailed it out of there; worried that the polizia would be chasing us down for felony theft!
Hate to say it, but the last time it rained here was about a month ago for ten minutes. Next trip, you should try Los Cabos!! Love, Jane
Happy Easter! Glad to hear everything is going great, good to know there are a bunch of shrinks around in case you need intense psychoanalysis after dealing with those astronomical restaurant bills, yikes! Florence sounds as wonderful as could be imagined, I'm sure seeing all the art, architecture and all its history is nothing less than astounding. Hope you get a break with the weather and all have a great Easter weekend.
Take care
Thanks for the news! We have been wondering how you are faring. Sandi and I are in England right now enjoying NO rain but it is coming. Hopefully, Italy has delivered to the four Carrow girls the best it can offer, once it dries! love to all, Nancy
Thanks The trip is sounding fantastic. Thanks for your generosity in sharing it with us this way. Each entry is a joy for me.
Peace, and travel well.
Ian
Thinking of you Dear Nancy and sisters:
I'm thinking of you as we hear of the victims of the earthquake. I see that Venice is far from L'Aquila and hope you have stayed safe. Enjoy your travels. Life is short but magnificent.

Drowning I hate to say this....but your misery is my amusement!...especially the way you're writing it. I can completely picture poor you and Nancy schlepping your bags in the rain in the train station trying to find Diane and Laurel amongst the people. Then the trekking up and down stairs with your suitcases in the definitely not wheelchair ramp city....welcome to Europe! I hoping your next entry does bring the sun...and should I let you know that we are experiencing one of the "Spring has come to Vancouver" days?...:)
Time changes.... I'm tired for you!! The time change got me last year in Europe....although not nearly as bad as it got you. Can't wait to see your pics and hear about the Four Sisters do Italy movie....
