Apparently we are all cold, hard, and unfriendly in the north. Because everyone waves down here. Driving by in their cars, they wave. And today, my 43 year old perfectly normal husband waved.....at cows. "Y'all are just cold and mean there up north." HA! Anyhow, we went over to the book fair and did some damage. If you've never heard of the Green Valley Book Fair, it's phenomenal. I did tons of laundry and we went to Costco. Yes, we did it. Today, Jerry and I went down to the courthouse and got married. Simple. Quick. Practical. It had us written all over it. Then I came home and took a long nap and he worked. We had dinner out with my sister-in-law and her husband, and determined that since I had only packed one pair of shoes (yes, I know, the mind reels) that I needed new ones. Yesterday we finally made it to the beach. I wanted to go again today, but the sunburn just won't allow me to do that. It's not too terrible, but it's enough to keep me off the pretty beach. We went out to Bellows AFB, which during the week is for military families only. Absolutely gorgeous view! And there were maybe twenty people along the mile or so of coastline. What a day! Let me just say that there is only so much island, and all of us are trying to drive it. The traffic here is horrific. So if we move here, it will definitely be many miles from Waikiki. Anyhow, we left this morning and headed for the Punchbowl, which is the National Memorial Cemetary of the Pacific. It contains the graves of thousands in the crater of an old volcano. Absolutely humbling, and I have to say the views were breathtaking. Then on to drive up Tantalus. I now know something the guide book did not tell [View Full Entry]

Well, I promised pictures, didn't I? Today is my day to sleep in, so I got up around 9, and I've been resizing photos while I wait for someone to get back from running a military errand. Then we go to the mall! YAY! So here we go! Our first stop was the USS Arizona Memorial. We drove over, got our tickets, and had to wait a little over an hour for our tour to begin. Trip to O'ahu Kristin B.I will once again be on a plane! Seriously, I feel like I live in airports. I can tell you which airports support which wifi accounts. I can tell you where every Starbucks in Chicago is. I can tell you that United gives you plane shaped cheese crackers, and Delta still gives out cheesy snack mix.
