Morocco! What a beautiful place to be. I've been travelling all over for the past ten days and every city feels completely different from the last one. There's these big squares in front of the medina at Marrakesh and Meknes where people gather around to listen to music and storytelling! Performers would draw a big crowd and just start playing the drums. The storytellers had the biggest crowds though and always drew laughters and loud applause from the audience. The mountains are beautiful, the deserts are tranquil and the cities are bustling. I'm learning to love life more everyday! A Learning Entrepreneur The other day I met a pair of travelers who were juggling balls in the open space of our desert camp. I approached them and asked them to teach me how to juggle. Salaam! I am in the southern part of Tunisia where life is much more different than the north. The culture is richer in this part of the country. People seem more genuine and so it is easier to make friends. In fact, I was lucky enough to have made a close friend in Sousse and was invited to his home to celebrate a Islamic holiday with his family. The holiday is called Adic Bill and its when all the Muslims sacrifice a sheep in Allah's honor. It was a pretty bloody celebration though, haha, and the poor sheep was still kicking even after they slit its throat! Eek! There was a 8 year old daughter who was braver than me and watched the whole thing without even flinching. The mom cooked a traditional lamb dish called ... read more

"Konichiwa! Japanese?" "Haha, no" "Oh, ok ok. Ni hao! Jackie Chan?" "*Sigh* Yes. Yes, I am Jackie Chan..." Haha, I was called Jackie Chan about 20 times yesterday. I don't think people mean it in an offensive way but it's pretty funny that so many people know how to say Konichiwa and Ni Hao! Pretty impressive for such a small country. But this country is truly special. It has a touch of Italian, Greek, French mixed into the Arab culture. It's hard to communicate with the locals since their second language is French but they are always smiling even though they have no idea what I'm saying! There are these huge colorful markets in every city called medinas and it's a lively atmosphere where they sell everything you can imagine. I've also been going to something ... read more

Kefhaala? Meya Meya! I am at the diver's haven in Dahab! This is where travellers come to dive at the red sea. It's beautiful here. Excellent dives for a cheap price, just my thing! The town is relaxed during the day time and bumping during the night time. This is where lots of Bedouins reside so the lifestyle here is really chill. The Bedouin people that I have met here are the most friendly and honest group of people I've ever encountered. Oh, and let's not forget, they cook the most amazing food! Fresh seafood and shish kebab everyday! Mmmm delicious... hehe, I'm a happy foodie! Food Is My Joy Ever since I could remember, I’ve been a fatty. My first Mandarin words were 好吃(Hao Chr) meaning delicious. And my first Taiwanese words were Jia Bung, ... read more

Salam! Izayak? Hamdulah Habibi! I have travelled southwards along the Nile of Egypt! I'm enthralled by all the amazing history that the ancient Egyptians left behind. The temples they constructed are so beautiful and it's incredible that it survived over 4000 years. It's intriguing to see how much devotion they had to their gods back then. Everything they built, they built in honor to the gods. The pharaohs spend their whole life preparing for their death. They kept building pyramids, temples, burial chambers, sarcophagus and sculptures to prepare themselves for the afterlife where they may rise to be a god. I am loving Egypt and all the rich culture! Now, I am off to the Sinai Peninsula where I will be diving in the Red sea, Inshalla(God Willing)! The Importance of Death Some people have said ... read more

Salaam a leikum, habibi! I have made my way out to Egypt, the land of pharaohs, and I am in love with this country! Cairo is the capital city and it’s a bustling place with rich culture pulsing through its veins. There’s colorful markets drizzled around every corner. There are huge mosques with beautiful white domes. And even though the city can be really crowded, it’s still easy to duck into small alleys where there are friendly food vendors cooking up some delicious shwarma. At night time, you can feel the electric energy vibe through the entire city. The lights are all on but with a dim to give the streets a calming glow. I see people selling every kind of goods to anybody. I see moms and dads taking their excited kids out to ice ... read more

Ni Guang Lah! My pops and I have just travelled all over the beautiful Inlay Lake. The lake is massive with an amazing mountain backdrop. The culture here is very special because everybody is living a care-free lifestyle, kind of what you would expect a lake-culture to be. We stayed at nice resort where we were able to fish off of a balcony. We caught some nice fish! The other highlight would have to be the floating market. They have this market where it's just boats and we travel from one boat-shop to another on our motor boat. There were two boat-shops who latched onto our motor boat and tried selling us stuff while we were speeding ahead! The people are wonderful here and are always so fascinated by foreigners. But at the same time, they ... read more

What the hell am I doing back here? This was my first thought as I walked through the front door of the Dhama Joti Vippasana Meditation center. There are hundreds of Vippasana centers all over the world and it all started from right here, in Burma(Myanmar). I attended my first hardcore Vippasana course back a year ago when I was in Nepal, and I barely made it out alive. Now, for some insane reason, I find myself walking into another Vippasana course. The only difference this time is that I’m walking into battle with my pops. Allow me to paint the picture of what this rigorous course looks like. Keep in mind that in no way am I exaggerating or complaining for if there is one thing that Vippasanna has taught me, it’s to observe reality ... read more

Sabadee, everybody! Been making my way down Laos. I've grown to really love this country. I feel like it's a country with a perfect balance of life. It's not "backwards" by any means but very simple. There aren't extremes of the rich and the poor. People seem to all live happily with a simple life. There aren't any slums but there are a lot of villages that farmers reside at. The best part about it is that they all use their money to buy a big satellite dish to watch TV! haha. Strange to see villages with huge satellite dishes. They love their lives here and I definitely love it here too! The Objective Eye My first philosophical questions came at the age of 9 when I asked my brother a question,” Does everybody see like ... read more

Sabadee! Travelling in beautiful Laos is a spiritual experience where nature and civilization seem to mold together into one. Luang Prabang is a simple town that is clean and has mountains in the backdrop. It's a tranquil setting that makes everybody feel peaceful. I love how it's not a tourist trap but more like a traveller's haven where there's a perfect balance of nature and civilization! Food is so delicious here and the culture is really rich. It reminds me of how Thailand used to be before all the tourists started swarming over. Peace and Love! Green Technology If there’s one thing that scares me more than a homicidal clown running at me with scissors, it’s that Mother Nature can be a real bitch sometimes. She’s a fine lady, but at any given moment She’s capable ... read more
