It means no worries, for the rest of your days, its a problem free philisophy, Hakuna Matata. For those of you who aren't now humming alone, go out, rent The Lion King and you'll be in the same fluffy mood I was in watching a live action version last week. Simba and friends dancing and singing to all the well known hits, warms the soul. Disney World. The magic is real, and it takes over you from the moment you walk through the gates and see the fairy princess castle, see Mickey Mouse, get chatted up by a Chipmunk, ride the [View Full Entry]

Spent the last week going round Boston. Entertaining and diverse city. Also easy to escape so the beautiful coastline both North and South were just waiting to be discovered. Day 1 Arrive Boston early evening, wander slightly aimlessly looking for the hostel. Asked 7 people where the road was until being rescued by a very nice woman who pointed up at a sign about 30 feet away and said "you're here" Doh. Crashed onto bed in ok hostel. Joined in a pathetic scramble for beds in our room. All asigned bed numbers which someone weeks ago had decided to ignore. For [View Full Entry]

Impressive, incredibly powerful and majestic. Took the Maid Of The Mist tour under the falls to start. On seeing the American falls, I couldn't help but feel a pang of disapointment as it wasn't half as impressive as Igaussu. Not sure anything ever will be. The huge number of people we shared the experience with didn't help much. I grew quickly intollerent of every one getting in my way. On travelling further up the river to the Horseshoe falls, I remembered why I was there and quickly forgot Iguassu for that momment at least. Really cool, massive volumes of water thundering [View Full Entry]

Decided this place deserved a blog of it's own. The nicest bit of Canada I've seen. That includes all the spectacular snow capped peaks of the Rockies. May just be because the area is not well known so no one else goes. Wilderness much more fun when it's empty. Had Luxury acommodation (own room, practically empty hostel so bathroom, kitchen and lounge to ourselves) and amazing host. Took us on a tour of the area in his car, 3 hikes plus a fascinating visitors centre and art gallery. Stopped to look at a couple of moose by the side of the [View Full Entry]

Chicago Fabulous city, pretty architecture, nice parks. One of those places where they've obviously made an effort to keep it looking nice, even with the curse of 70's concrete attacking the picture every now and then. Lots of daft shaped tower blocks surrounded by enough glass giving the city an occasionall bright shimmer. Millenium Park, near Lake Michigan was nicly sculpted, real artists given free reign over certain chunks, and included the bonus of a covered stage full of musicians practising for the following nights concert. Pleasant Classical music to amble and sunbathe by is alway [View Full Entry]

Ahhh, paradise, not a cloud in the sky, no care in the world except for the 2 small dogs trying to drown me. Such is life in the sunshine state. San Francisco Beautiful city, full of nutters so it suited me. Got to play on the cable car, hanging off the side as it careers down unnatuarally steep slopes. Loved it. Spent 3 days there wandering the streets and enormous parks. Pier 39 is "San Franciso's #1 attraction. Large pier full of the cheesiest shops you can imagine, including one wonderful chocolate shop. Sadly none of the chocolate survived the next [View Full Entry]

Chipmunks

North America » Canada » Alberta » Banff
I've had the most exciting 10 days of my life, well ovr 100 hours travelling on planes, buses and cable cars. If I could sit still for a few days I''d be over the moon. Made it down to San Francisco. Up to Toronto in a week. Have a look on a map of North America. Don't think there's 2 large cities that are further apart. Ah well, 72 hours of Meat Loaf, Lord Of The Rings and Sudoku plus occasional gorgeous scenery to gawp at when eyes going funny. What more could you ask. Miami Airport Don't usually mention airports [View Full Entry]

Sorry it's been a while, been out in the wilderness with minimal access to net and too many tempting looking pubs when we did reach proper towns. Actually, I've spent a large portion of the last 2 weeks under water, some clean, some not so. I've spotted a huge amont of wildlife and I'm not just talking about the residents of Copacabana beach in Rio, or the irritating hoards straining to get the perfect shot at Corcovado. Straight out of Bolivia, we headed into Brazil's wetlands. The Pantanal region, about half the size of France, is home to a wide variety [View Full Entry]

Hi, sorry it´s been a while, as expected, I´ve been in the middle of nowhere for a while. Freezed my arse off and felt my skin boil 10 minutes later. My musical horizons have been expanded, though not in any sensible ways and I´ve worked out how survive 10 days solid sat on my bum. Having a cracking holiday. Peru Cuzco Nice touristy town. More money floating about so most of the houses are finished. Larger percentage of tourists than I´d seen to date. All either looking excited for the walk or lookng knackered but pleased with themselves at having done [View Full Entry]

The Inca Trail

South America » Peru » Cusco » Inca Trail
"I´m still Alive, must have been a miracle, it´s been a hell of a ride, destination still unknown... It´s a long way down from the top of the world" Ow, legs still sore. Made it though. Yipee Day 1, Gentle Introduction Wonderful gentle walk up into the mountains, following a beautiful valley up in to the heart of the Andes. Large Inca city opened out below us to welcome us to the trail. Enormous mountains on all sides. Easy trail tostart, wide paths, only little bits of uphill that failed to break a sweat. This is going to be so easy. [View Full Entry]
