Before we fill you in on any of the events over the past month, we must first apologise and explain our extreme tardiness with blog postings. In India nothing is reliable. Even everyday things that you take for granted, such as electricity. When asking when power may be supplied, it is always best to add an hour.. Probably two. Plus it is REALLY hard to pull yourself away from the beautiful Goan beaches.. sorry! Anyways enough of our explainations, now for the details. When we last left you, we had just entered Varanasi from our three day boat cruise down the Ganges. Hello Everyone! After a fretful, sleepless night awaiting depature from Hanoi to India (which involed many visions of two fresh backpackers being swamped by a bunch of evil Indians, as well as a false fire alarm in the building next door!!) we finally arrived in New Delhi International Airport. They say that first impressions are everything, so as we ventured down the exit ramp into the terminal, the long concrete corridor with lights hanging from the ceiling wasn't really giving off the most inviting vibes. This feeling wasn't aided by our airport transfer being M.I.A when we arrived, with us having to hunt him down in the crowded terminal. With our tour over, its quite amazing to look back and think about all thats happened since we left nearly two weeks ago! So much has happened, the dramas have certainly continued courtesy of lizzie, we have made great friends, and done incredible things. Its still early days, India is up next! New Year turned into a great night in Ho Chi Minh. After not having much of a clue what to do, the city cetainly turned on a spectacular show. Every street corner, park, restaurant- basically any space was set up to welcome in 2008. Many drinks were consumed at various backpackers bars around the city with the Americans we met, as well as another couple from Geelong. We've finally arrived on our Asia Tour 07!! Needless to say, in true Nick and Lizzie style, there has been a few dilemmas.. Well probably an average of 5 to 6 a day.. But we're managing!! We should have guessed that it was going to be a rocky start when problems where developing even before we had left! Nick forgot his Cash Passport, which was supposed to carry all of his money during the trip.. So we went to the airport via STA Travel which certainly raised the pulses of a certain someone who was sweating and stressing that we weren't even going to make the flight.. Sorry Lizzie!!
