INSANELY JEALOUS! - From:
hey darls, I'm so so jealous of you, would LOVE to be taking off with a friend for that long! Oh well, I guess I'll have a little taste of it when I go and see Katy....Just not the same when you got kids at home and very limited time and money! Too bad we won't overlap :( Are you doing it cheap? Have you read any lonely planet guides, or that other one? I think its called the rough guide or something? If only you lived near a Borders, thats what I've been doing! Makes me think of you actually with my coffee and travel books to keep me company, like old times. Looking forward to hearing about your adventures. And keep it PG (or maybe M) rated please!!!! Ha ha ha xxx

Welcome to Korat - From:
I see that your school is in Nakhon Ratchasima, which is the long way of saying Korat (where the grey Korat cat comes from). You should love it there, although I'm sure it has changed a lot since I lived there from 1958 to 1966. In the early '60's the major U.S. military presence started, as Korat Air Base was a major launching point for bombing North Vietnam. Because of that early influence, many Thais learned to speak English, so you shouldn't have any language problems. There are probably a lot of former GI's who have retired there, although I'm sure that you will want to submerse yourself into the Thai culture. As for things to do on weekends, go to Phimai, the Khmer ruins an hour north of Korat. When it gets too hot, go to Khao Yai National Park an hour west of Korat, a mountain resort area with jungles and animals. Have fun!

Ferry transports are the best option to travel around France and U.k .there are so many cross channel ferry operators who provide very good service. People can get informations on ferry service from different websites.Norfolkline.com is a very good http://www.norfolkline.de/DE/Faehren/ news site to watch out for ferry services and their rates.

Wearing the Jilbab - From:
Hi Leonie, I can't wait to hear more of your story- sounds so fascinating. I have worn the jilbab whilst doing volunteer teaching of English at an Islamic boarding school in Padang Panjang in West Sumatra. An amazingly wonderful experience. I really enjoyed wearing the jilbab and did not want to take it off. Where are you visiting in Indonesia? Pamela

Having a really great time here to. Snowed yesterday... Found your snake at www.wilderness-survival.net/snakes-7.php King cobra Ophiophagus hannah Description: Uniformly olive, brown, or green with ringlike crossbands of black. Characteristics: Although it is the largest venomous snake in the world and it has a disposition to go with this honor, it causes relatively few bites on humans. It appears to have a degree of intelligence. It avoids attacking another venomous snake for fear of being bitten. It feeds exclusively on harmless species. The female builds a nest then deposits her eggs. Lying close by, she guards the nest and is highly aggressive toward anything that closely approaches the nest. Its venom is a powerful neurotoxin. Without medical aid, death is certain for its victims. Habitat: Dense jungle and cultivated fields. Length: Average 3.5 meters, maximum 5.5 meters. Distribution: Thailand, southern China, Malaysia Peninsula, and Philippines. I reckon you were lucky it was smart enough to stay away from y'all... 8)

Phuket is not as exciting as Pattaya but certainly more scenic. The bike sounds like great fun although a little dangerous. Would love to come out and meet you there when you're back in two months but not sure that will happen. You're not missing much here apart credit crunches and x-factor. Take care. D
