Enjoyed reading your blog, and was tickled pink seeing a picture of me and my kids in those awesome costumes. My childhood was punctuated by almost annual visits to this ancestral home during the May Pahiyas Festival. Glad you had a good time. Thanks!

Nice blog. Inspires me to go there (especially after watching a local TV series that was partly shot there). Anyway, isn't going to Bhutan only possible with a tour? What tour operator would you recommend and how much? Love your trips. Looking forward to more entries from you! :)

i am for this kind of development if the structure are just replica of an original heritage structure, but bringing the original one into a whole new site and a whole new environment is a totally ridiculous idea, because heritage does not only pertains to the structure itself but the culture and tradition surrounding it, the people who used it and the history behind it. and besides the site is near an ocean, im sure not all the materials from the original structure can withstand the salty environment, which could damage these century old houses.

Thanks for the mention, but poetry seldom grips the imagination these days. We can't touch your record having only half of our blogs on Travelblog since 2009 - the rest, from 2004 on, were transfered from the inferior Blogspot to Travelblog in 2009 and had no recorded hits during that period!
