I stand corrected, Boris!
Thanks Boris. I may have gotten them mixed up. I will edit the captions accordingly. I have to tell you though that I was so fascinated by this number thing in China. Nowhere else like it, don't you think?

Nice blog and great photos to go with it! The whole system of numbers is a good subject which I haven't read about it on TravelBlog before. Just one thing though, I lived in China for a year and three months, and I'm pretty sure that in your first picture, left is 6, right is 8. and in the second picture left is 7 and right is 9 (as per the photo, not their actual hands). Thanks for sharing with us though :)

Culinary delights!
I just love reading your stories about tempting dishes which cause my mouth to water as I read every word. As you may not know, I am a big dimsum fan!! And you are quite humorous as well..."feel that cholesterol rush!"..I laughed out loud!! How wonderful to encourage the kids to journal. I bet they enjoyed writing every word! ZhouZhuang reminded me of Venice...how romantic and charming it must be! Glad you managed to squeeze in some shopping and thanks for the bargaining tips!! You're a real pro! Take care my friend!

Olympic Proportions!
Wow, I can't believe you saw the water cube and the bird's next up close and personal. How fantastic! During the entire 2008 games, I was glued to the TV and loved every pan of the camera across the Olympic park. I am a big fan of all kinds of architecture. Your photo of the Long Corridor above is striking! The juxtaposition of the line of trees to that of the columns with the sun cascading through is breathtaking! Great job. Keep these adventures coming!

Another fascinating journey!
Once again, you adventure into mysterious and wondrous places! How fascinating these caves must have been to experience first hand. I am glad you included pics of the stone doors and tunnels and ladder too. And, people still live there? I thought I saw Fred and Wilma in one of your photos...you better have another look to make sure. LOL! Thanks for sharing your memories and pooh stories too!

Great souvenirs for us to look at your pics. Iwent with Leslie to Xian 2 years ago...was a great week-end. I need some time to read all your entry...as we were running this morning in KL....and tomorrow we are visiting Borobodur...where are you for the moment? Guilin is indeed nearer to HK...it seems (not that I want to do it) only 9 hours bus from Shenzen. Peter

Fascinating blog. I had absolutely no idea the terracotta warriors were originally painted. Those photos are amazing. What a shame they couldn't have been better preserved. Thanks for sharing your travels - as always I have enjoyed reading your blog.

Cave Hotels
These photos bring back great memories of my time there many years ago - thanks for the blog! I did stay in a cave hotel for two or three nights and it was a great experience - but they can get really cold at night - so be prepared. PS: I didn't know about Camel Valley - it is a good reason for me to return and see it for myself!

Snow in Turkey...
For some reason, I never thought of Turkey as being cold. I am so happy you shared your stories of Turkey because it has inspired me to travel there someday. Because of all the policital turmoil, I was afraid to venture there but after living vicariously through your stories and again, stunning and vivid photography, I think it's changed my mind. Looking forward to your next. See ya.

Stunning photography!
You are so humorous..."wow, didn't I digress." I burst out laughing at this. And the yogurt and hashish...LOL!! I LOVED this article and all of its historical lessons. Actually, thoughts of highschool ancient history were running through my head..I used to love to learn about the gods... Although I am glad you got to be get up close and personal with the artifacts, I hope someday, they protect them from the elements and human handling or they'll be lost forever. You are a very talented photographer I must say...some of these photos are surrealistic!! Keep 'em coming, Lili!!

Temple of Artemis...what did you do with it?
Hey there. It's me again. Great article and I have always been fascinated by the seven ancient wonders. I would love to see this one day. Perhaps they will save the column for me and my friend Antoinette from the Roman Forum... Awesome recap of your journey and I bet you learned a great deal! I want to go!!

How inspiring!!
Another great article and so rich in history. What a sad story about Luis...but you're right, imagine a time when each lived and let lived. Sorry to be out of touch for a while...job hunting is time consuming... Take care. Jeff

Judging by your blogs it looks like you had a great trip. That pic does look like Shelly is standing on a glacier indeed. A friend of ours will be in Manila this weekend, she has adopted 2 year old triplets! An instant family for her - she is so happy. Take care.
