Before settling back into Bangalore, I went on a quick trip to Delhi, Agra (Taj Mahal), and Rajasthan. I found it to be very interesting, and a bit more colorful than southern India ... but also a lot 'rougher.' A bit more poverty and agressiveness that I have become accustomed to in the south.... read more

We traveled to a little hill station about 100 km east of Mumbai. This little hill town doesn't allow any type of motorized transport, a great respite from the traffic of Mumbai! It was also neat because we took a little "toy train" up through amazing scenery to get to the town (altitude 800m.) ... read more

After Goa, we headed to Mumbai. I loved this city. Our hotel was right near the water off the famous strip, Marine Drive. There was so much to do there ... ancient cave sculpture, amazing architecture, temples, museums, great food .... I was really impressed, and could have spent weeks in Mumbai without getting bored. The only drawback was the terrible traffic, and risking your life everytime you had to cross the street!... read more

My friend Kirsten came to travel with me over the holidays. We went straight to the party-beach town of Goa. Goa has a large population of Christians, so Christmas is really celebrated here. The entire town was decked out in lights and Christmas decorations. It almost felt like christmas there (no snow of course!)... read more

Its great to get away from the crazy traffic on the main roads and a nice way to start my work day. Most days I pass through a flock of sheep!... read more
