After Stirling, we made our way past the Scottish midlands and through the highlands to Culrain. The jagged small mountains were gorgeous - I think Ross' favorite scenery so far. I think people were realizing why Scotland is my favorite place on earth :). We saw some elk, but had no Scottish Highland cattle sightings just yet. It was really cool to go more North than I had been, and it seemed to just get prettier. Sadly it got dark before we reached our destination for the night: Carbisdale Castle. It truely was the best and neatest hostel I had ever stayed in. I LOVE castles :) :) :). It was so fun to explore the castle that night - through narrow hallways and up and down stairs. After fish and chips on the way home, we arrived at David and Vanessa's, and had the most delicious birthday cake. Today I got back from a fantastic Church retreat near the Lake District. I met a lot of nice people, learned a lot from speaker Pete Gaskell and the Bible, and witnessed some of the most breathtaking views I've seen yet. The rugged scenery is absolutely gorgeous - this is the reason I decided to study in northern England - and I'm so glad that I was able to see this country side my first weekend after classes :) I will be adding pictures bit by bit, because the internet I use in my flat limits how much I can upload to the internet.
