Sleeper Coach At first I saw the pretty blue neon lights and it looked pretty funky, then I enlarged the picture, this is worse than the sleeper train! Are those bed things designed for western people?
Nha Trang to Hoi An I feel like a celebrity - my name mentioned in lights on the internet.
How's the next leg of the journey? Whoopsie-like?
We have landed back in Blighty to a bit of a culture shock but will do our best to soften the blow for you guys with a nice bottle or two of red in Stokey.
Looking forward to the next episode in the Lee and Amy adventures...
Hoi An and suits Hey Dave,
Glad you liked the blog, you're sure to like Hoi An, its a beautiful place. The suits vary depending on the material (you can pay up to 300 US dollars for the top notch stuff) but as a general guide you can expect to pay between 60 - 120 US dollars for a regular suit. I paid 110 for both of mine and they were better quality (in both material and actual making) than I'd get from a high street shop back in the UK. Shirts range from 10-30 US dollars and are good too. Generally, the higher the price, the better the tailor. Can't recommend the ladies in Bi Bo highly enough! Say Lee and Amy sent you, you might get a discount
All the best mate, hope you enjoy your trip - be sure to try Cao Lau!
Very nice synopsis. Some really good suggestions too. Its good to know about the hotel and taylors in Hoi An. I plan on going there myself in the next few weeks to have some suits made. One question: On average how much does it cost for a decent suit? Also, is it easy to have things shipped home?
Thanks again for the travel update and be safe.
Dave
Hello Hippies. Well I am impressed, Lee talking in Vietnamese about Dong. Why would you climb through that tunnel? That would have troubled me somewhat, methinks I would have stayed in the sun with Amy. As usual guys fantastic stuff, you could write a great book when you get back. Missing you both XX Has Lee got a new hat?
How lovely! That is so fantastic that you got to visit Thuan's family! That's a truly authentic Vietnamese experience you'll never forget.

Stunning! I LOVE the pictures (wow) and your writing style is entertaining. My hubby and I are going to Vietnam in October and are debating between a private 8-day tour of the North and Laos, or doing it ourselves. It looks as though you had a wonderful group to go with. Reading your blog makes me even more excited for our trip! Thanks!

Ah Battambang I stayed there for about 6 weeks a few years ago, teaching at a nearby school... did you go to the abandoned Pepsi factory? There was still a newspaper with an evaporated cup of coffee next to it in the staff chaging room. All the bottles were lined up on the conveyor belts. Left in a real hurry. Anyway...brought back some great memories of my time there...
Hope you are having fun!
Better and better Well you've done it again, how you find such interesting. fascinating and amazing places and people is brilliant.
Phi Lay sounds a top man for having survived what he did and perhaps help others understand a little better.
Just great stuff on the blogs you two. Steve
Green Gunk Did the green gunk smell like tiger balm? A strong antiseptic smell? If it did, then we too have come into contact with this miracle cure of all aliments and purchased the same in Thailand. It works wonders for an insect bites, cuts, bruises, spots etc, so my advice is pick some up yourselves. xxxx
All life is sacred???? Hello you two, so after the sentance in the Monestry Amy was defeated by a cockroach? Seriously I would have been up and hunting it aswell. Where you are now looks fantastic. keep eating the strange stuff. Love to both, Steve (Dad)
