Major US holidays are a cause for celebration and since I spent Memorial Day shuffling between continents I figured that I would spend Labor Day away as well... so off to Canada I went. Had lovely accommodations at Auberge Alternative in Vieux Montreal and spent my free time wandering Montreal.. I ended up in all types of places, Casino Montreal, Le Chalet in Mont Royal, Tam Tams, Le Village, Vieux Montreal of course... definitely want to go again. So I have lots of updates to do, which will be done over next few days... in summary. Green apple sorbet is the best, I got henna and one hand is black and the other is natural/brown... she wouldn't believe me that I didn't want black and I had a reaction to it already. Will post info soon, just wanted to highlight sunrise from the roof of our hotel. This morning I got up for sunrise and just missed it, but I hope to catch it tomorrow. I still tookk some great shots, one of which is included. I did it lone nd still testig out my camera... I'm a lil late, yes. We found an internet cafe that was 7dh/hr. We took a turquoise petit taxi to the Medina area. It was just over 10dh, we beat the night-time double fares. We looked over a few hotels and Hotel Regina seemed like the best bang for our buck. It's 100dh/nite for 2ppl so it's really not much at all. Wanted to try a hammam but that didn't happen. Maybe I will get up early enough tomorrow. My hair is BEGGING to be washed, yuck, I know. I can live off this salad. Wandered the town even more... it's actually much better than I think Tangier would have been, although I haven't been to Tangier. On the way back to the train we walked along the beach where we had to go through a yard and then cross the street to go over the fence. On the way into Asilah all the townies hopped the fence to walk into town, while we took a cab. The train to Fes was 82dh (we rode 2nd class). So we made it and have been to 3 cities already... found an internet cafe to write in l'medina in Asilah. Almost out of time though so this is my little message for now..Getting a little hungry and there are only a few hours left in the day. Well we landed on time. Our flight from NY got a lil bit of a late start, but we made AMS on time as well. The train to Casa -Voys was leaving so we splurged and paid 80 dh on train for 2 tix. From Voys we got on train to Casa-Port, why stop in Casablanca if you don't see the mosque. The petit taxi we got at the train station left us like a 20 min walk from mosque, it was worth the walk though. Have to post pictures a lil later. We got to Amsterdam and had trouble with the lockers (6 euros). Sam found one of the airport people and he reopened the one we paid for and we were on our way to Centraal Station, no one checked the ticket we spent 6.9 euros on, but maybe we can use them on the way back? We didn't end up with anything expect pictures in AMS. We exchanged our money in US so we didn 't use any exchange there. A lady did say they were changing 2euros for 10 dollars which was crazy!!!!
