Ok family we are safe in the arms of Thailand once again! Cambodia was incredible and will be something we will never forget. We have lots more stories to share and hundreds more photos from Cambodia that well share when we get back! On a side note, the children of Cambodia are soooo beautiful! We visited an orphanage outside of Angkor and got to talk with one of the volunteer teachers, we donated what we could afford and got to talk with the kids a little bit, they were very friendly. We wanted so badly to help out more but I [View Full Entry]

Well we did the impossible.... From Chiang Mai, we took a 14 hour night train back to Bangkok, theeeen we took a tuk tuk to the bus station, then a 4 hour bus to the Cambdia/Thailand border town of Aranyaprathet THEN we met some Aussies and after immigration and customs into Cambodia we hopped in a "taxi" and took the most INSANE 3 hour journey of our lives. Cambodia is....A crazy place to say the least. Barely any of the road was paved, people living in absolute poverty it was just heartbreaking... We finally made it to Siem Reap after a [View Full Entry]

So it is about 5:30 pm and we just came back from an adventurous and productive afternoon. This morning we started off with a taxi picking us up at our hotel and taking us to several places and waiting for us to be done at each of them.First we went to a temple high up in the mountains of chiang mai with a spectacular view . We were happy to see lots of locals there having a good time watching children perform traditional dance outside. After that we went to a monkey show .The monkeys were so cute and were [View Full Entry]

After 17 hours on a sleeper train from Bangkok we have made it to our second major destination in Chiang Mai! The train left Hualamphong station in Bangkok around 8pm! We had some dinner on the train and the staff came around and turned our seats into little capsule beds, they werent to bad! We fell fast asleep on possibly the most violently shaking and clacking train ive ever been on! Thank god for ear plugs and sleep masks, haha. Me and Ari woke about 5 am to the sun rising in the middle of the jungle about 5 hours outside [View Full Entry]

We made it!! After 19.5 hours of air travel we have finally made it! We actually got in last night around midnight, we passed through immigration/ customs with ease and were on the street by 12:30 looking for our ride! After some wandering through the meeting point in front of the massive Bangkok airport we heard someone shouting our name from behind us in the crowd! For those that dont know, there is a thai food restaurant in our town that we have been religously going to for the last three years and wee made good friends with the owner. When [View Full Entry]

Last night was a rough sleep! So many things rushing through our heads.... Did I grab the ipod charger? Yes. Ok. But did I grab the USB cable for the ipod charger. Yes. Ok. Now go to sleep. Then repeat this about 20 times and insert different objects that could've been left behind. Were excited but nervous for some reason! A little anxiety of the unknown but still....very very excited. This will be the last post from America, see you guys on the other side! -Kyle and Ari [View Full Entry]

We are going to be in Thailand from the 4th-23rd! This little blog should help keep our families and friends up to date on our misadventures, etc. We have been preparing for our trip already, buying all the little things well need to maintain our comfort levels abroad. From our last trip in Japan I have learned that Asias humidity does not mix well with any sort of dense or heavy fabrics. I almost died a couple times with the heavy jeans I was wearing in Japan. SO this time I went out and bought a couple pairs of airy light [View Full Entry]
