| 6th July 2008 Susan Hilb | WOW! Kim what a blessing you are. - From: The orphanage I am visiting... I have been sitting here for over an hour, since I got home from church service, reading all the blogs from your trip in Uganda. And, I am in tears myself, as well as in awe, over your experiences there. It is surely a humbling time in your life, and I feel sort of envious of you, that most of us never get to experience for one reason or another. Well, you are certainly missed here at home, but, it sounds like that doesn't matter much, considering the impact you are having on the lives of the people you are serving there in Uganda. How is your leg doing? I was hoping to read that it is not bothering you at all, but I guess no comment is better than none. The pictures are great. And , what you are doing there is even better. So, stay safe, and hurry home. We are all praying for you. Love Sue |
| 6th July 2008 Dad and Fran | Very Proud of you! - From: What a week... Wow! It doesn't seem possible that you are only 2 weeks from being back home in Maine. Fran and I race to the computer to see if there are any pictures & stories from Africa. You have done a superb job at putting up pictures and a good explanation of the pictures. We appreciate seeing you in them now. Thanks! You look very happy and fulfilled with your mission. I sometimes am reading what you write with tears flowing down my cheek with heatache over what the poverty is and we have so much here we take for granted and with the fact that you are in Africa ministering to the children and people in need. Fran is dictating to me now, but she wanted you to know that we visited Garry and the kids on Sunday and Fran was so impressed with how good Isaiah was on the Guitar Hero, Rock Band, whatever it is called. She said he was very good at it. We know you have a lot to pray about, but if you could pray about Fran's fractured elbow, she did this at Wal-Mart Tuesday, pulling out a TV like she has done so many times, but this time the strap let go and she really banged it hard. She has been doing things with one hand since. She is also still at work doing things with a sling on. She got right on the bike that night and went for our routine motorcycle ride for an ice cream. She will know more about her elbow Monday. It is Sunday morning about 8:00 AM and Fran and I are going out to breakfast this morning before she goes to Church and I go back to the yard sale. We have been doing well and looks like I might make my goal. Again we are very proud of your call to go to Africa and look forward to havng you and the people from Africa come to the teen center and share when they come to the states. We are going to sign off now and we can see how you would fall in love with the baby you were holding. It is sad to hear the statistics of the Aids virus. You make sure you protect yourself against catching anything while there. You look so happy in the pictures you post. I am sure you have mixed feelings about wanting to stay and wanting to come back home. God is in control. Trust in him and he will make your path straight. Amen. Love you Dad and Fran. |
| 27th June 2008 Fran | Just Hi - From: Church day It has been a week already, it seems like it has gone fast to us, how about you? I bet Garry and the kids think it has been even longer. When do we see some pictures of you? I showed a couple of the kids here the pictures of Africa that you have sent so far. They thought it was awesome, yet primitive. We have asked you to send us any specific prayer requests, but haven't seen any yet. Is there some place special that we should be looking for them? Otherwise we will continue to pray in general terms. I think you have left Paul and Molly's home by now, right? Stay rested and look forward to seeing more pictures and explanations that go with them. Let's see some of Kim, O.K. We love you and are proud of your adventurous spirit. We are now at the teen center with kids everywhere. We need to get back to them, but wanted to drop you a line. It is almost 7:00 PM here, so it is almost 3:00 AM in Africa according to Garry, there is 8 hours difference, not 6 we were thinkiing. Love you Dad and Fran |
| 27th June 2008 Dad and Fran | It has been a week since you arrived in Africa - From: Church day Fran and I both go right to the computer when we get home to see if there is anything new from Africa on the blog. When there is we read it all and strain our eyes to see if we can get a glimpse of Kim in the pictures. So far on picutures of Kim but we beleive there will be. You have been there a week today and as I write you it is about 9:00 AM EST here so your day might be winding down as it is 5:00 PM in Africa. It is unbearably hot there? I don't think I could take that heat. Are you making a difference with the young people? I am sure you are making good friends. We miss you and look forward to having you come share with all of us at the teen center all about your trip with pictures. Fran and I, along with 6 or 8 other bikes will be going motorcycling tomorrow, our trial run for the Fund Raiser Ride Sat. Aug. 16th. Well I wil close and continue to pray for you and your mission trip in Africa. God bless and say hello to all the people for us. We want to see a picture of you in Africa teaching or something. O.K. Love you Dad and Fran. Well I am off to the Alpha & Omega Thrift Shop. How did the clothes work out? . |
| 25th June 2008 Fran | Just thinking of yuh! - From: Church day Hey babe I was just looking at the pictures they are great. Sounds like you got some rest which was needed after your long days of flying. IT seems like you found the same thing as I did when we went to Mexico. I cound not understand what they were singing but through the HOLY SPIRIT I could understand. I am sure you have fallen in love with them already. Now is there anything I can ask people to pray for you, or the pople their with you. I am fasting every other day at lunch so I can pray for your needs. I also am praying for Garry and the kids so if there is anything they need prayer for that you know of I will do that as well. I am so glad to hear from you each time. LOVE YOU Fran |

If I have it right you will be at your destination in UGanda Africa 7:00 PM Africa time and 1:00 PM EST. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers and look forward to following your progress as you accomplish your mission. Stay safe, alert and know you are loved and missed here at home. Fran and I will be looking at your blog site regularly to see what is happening in Africa. God bless, God's speed and have a great time in Africa. You are fulfilling a long time prayer and desire.
